Hey Spud, I just hired on at ASA and I'm almost 50 years old. If I stay I'll be nearly 60 before I upgrade and ASA may not even be around by then. It's all relative.

Damn 150-200?!? That is close haha.....5 years next month and I am 500+ away. I have pretty much accepted it isn't going to happen here. We are not going to need PIC time here soon anyway.

The last 5 years at Colgan would have got you a Saab 340 type, Dash 8 type, around 3,000 hours of precious 121 PIC and 4 years of captain pay. Compare that to someone who spent the last 5 years at any other regional and Colgan doesn't look so bad now does it?

And I would have had to commute, get a crash pad, and could not have worked my other 2 businesses, which would have cost me quite a bit of money, not to mention many days away from home. Good thing I didn't go to colgan.

well at least you knew that going into it. A lot of the FO's that have been here some time got hired when upgrade was 2-3 years or so from DOH so for us it is a huge letdown.

huuuuuuge let down. Nothing like wasting your youth making 40k a year at a time when making lots of $$$ is one of the most important (relatively speaking) priorities in your financial life.

Actually, I didn't know that. They told me at the interview it would be 3-4 years with all the mainline hiring and expansion. I've been in this business too long to believe that. Hopefully I won't be around long enough to find out.

I wish I made 40k in one year. I'd feel rich.
