I completely agree. We have guys on both sides that need a swift kick in the head.

Here's one little nugget of compassion from an elected union representative (again, if this SAABoroowski fellow is impersonating a union rep, I will of course admit I was suckered and retract my complaints):

"relax, if you do get furloughed, it's only temporary, you won't see much of a difference financially, and your quality of life will improve because you'll be home with your family"

Yeah, my "temporary" was over a year of living at a much lower standard of living than even on first year pay (unemployment only paid 60% of the average of my *gross* earnings from the previous five quarters), and let me tell you... being even poorer and unable to find any good work to provide for my family was a real boost to my QOL.
Ask that same person what the company offered to do with 70 erj pilots and what the XE MEC did.

Even worse, it looks like St. George has given up on the L-XJT side. The damage is probably irreparable by now. Can't say we didn't try to warn them.

I can't wait for their side to come to our side and suddenly want to settle the contract and merge the list. I hope our reps tell them the same thing their reps told us 6 months ago when they thought ASA was about to furlough.

What, you mean come up with an MOU saying that the ASA side will hire any furloughed L-XJT pilots? Because that's what the L-XJT side did when you were talking about furloughs.

You really are a little high school drama queen! It's so pathetic that a man of your age and experience can be so petty and vindictive. The vast majority of us at L-XJT didn't want to see a single one of the ASA guys get furloughed. 99.9% of us have the combined group interest at heart and want to get this done. We just want to make sure it is done properly. The fact that you are still at a regional, spend all your time off on message boards and conduct yourself in such a childish manner should be a warning sign to all at both L-XJT and L-ASA of what can happen if you get stuck in the regional rat race through personal failure or poor decision making.

No, I was referring to your MEC telling ours after the Delta contract came out that they were in no hurry to merge anymore, because "not one XJT pilot deserves to get furloughed because you're losing airplanes". Then they proceeded to stall negotiations. Looks like stalling wasn't such a good choice after all.

And you know nothing about me, so hold off on your personal attacks just because I got your little panties in a wad and you got your little feelings hurt. Poor decisions why I'm "stuck at a regional"? Tell me how many carriers worth going to have hired in the last 5 years?

I so love the "me generation".

Furlough? Temporary? Has he met any AA or L-UAL furloughs?

Your history is well publicised by many at both ASA and XJT. Likewise, you know nothing of my background either. Having flown for 3 other airlines previously on both the Jetstream 31 and Airbus A320, I am well aware of how tough this industry can be, I have two furloughs to my name, thus I would never wish them on anyone else. Stamping your feet and screaming like a little child just because our MEC isn't willing to cave in to your every demand does not do anyone within this profession justice.

I'm not pleased with our MEC for some of the actions they are taking, in fact, I often tell many of those I work with that I have flown under PBS in the past and if it is programmed correctly, it can be a lot more stress free than our current line bidding. I just don't think that the shoddy management team that we have in place is capable of getting it right if we allowed them that tool. The only two examples I have of working under similar programmes to ASA are Rainmaker and SkedPlus+, both of which has been fraught with problems that still haven't been resolved. I have no problem with the ASA pilot group, I take issue with the management team we have inherited from Atlanta. Since they have taken charge nearly everything at L-XJT has got worse.

I just cannot stand your decisive, childish behaviour on these message boards. You are a troll who seeks to poke the fire and stir the pot constantly. I rarely get involved in these discussions because it always ends up in a childish argument. But you sir, disgust me in your behaviour.

3stripes,

I remember reading several guys at LXJT endorse stalling negotiations because ASA was a sinking ship with the 50 seaters at Delta. When you're facing a potentially negative impact on your career's future, this does nothing but incite anger and resenent. To be honest, it was hard for me at times to rationalize this and realize it was a few jerks hiding behind an anonymous screen name on a message board. I suggest you do the same. It'll save you a lot of grief and resentment.

Thanks for your opinion, which nobody asked for. Pretty shallow of you to defend your judging my entire character by my (admittedly) trolling, childish web posts. Sorry, I guess I missed the memo that the internet message boards were for something other than rumors and entertainment. If you truly "know all about me", then you know how to find me. When you do, I'll gladly buy you lunch and we can have a "real" conversation. And that offer is open to all of you.

I really, truly hope you don't get furloughed again. Or anyone on the L-XJT side for that matter. But if it happens, you have no one to blame but your MEC for their pigheadedness, not us, and not management.
