Looks like you will get your wish. Congrats!!! I can tell you as a former commuter, being home based is worth $1,000,000. If your not home based, at least you get your 1st choice!

It's not all about pay rates! If they raise rates by $10 across the board but don't have the language to back it up, I am a NO vote!

I have heard recently that there may be a flow-through created between ASA and Delta. Is this idea crazy or does it make sense? If Delta (per the new contract) has to hire X amount from current DCI ALPA pilots, I would think that a flow makes sense!!!

The 9E guys are talking about a flow through as well. I think it's more wishful thinking than anything, but you never know.

So what you are saying is negotiations are null and void. A 6 hour ready reserve for 6 hours credit is no good. I promise it isn't a wash. 6 hour ready reserve for 6 hours credit would create a surplus of pilots willing to bid RR for the credits. Considering most trips don't credit 6 hours per day! Even if one can't bid for RR; the reserves from both sides would love 6 hours credit from a RR. I can tell you as a RR pilot multiple times per month, we would ALL benefit! Would you rather work 6, 4 hour periods for 24 hours credit, or 6, 6 hour periods for 36 hours credit! If, like you say, the company prevents you from breaking 75 hours, wouldn't this rule create more un-used days for reserves?!

The only reason I even mentioned this was because in the last 3 weeks I have had about 5 Delta jump-seaters who have "heard" there are things in the "works" for us ASA guys to "flow." Of course it is "wishful thinking," but I honestly think that if mainline is going to staff properly for the next 10+ years, they are going to have to create bridge programs. I also can't help but to think that the fact that we both share the same MEC office in ATL, it won't help a little! (And the fact that the interview is the same as Delta! Our new hires have to go through at least 80% of the Delta interview.)

By ASA you mean ExpressJet or just LASA?

You're dodging the question. If you sit ready reserve, you are paid hour for hour. That equates to less trips to the airport to sit there and stare at the walls. It also means less guys have to do ready reserve. The company will get the coverage they need at the airport. If it means more or less bodies. I'd rather be compensated and do it less times than the way you currently do it.

There is a forest out there but this tree keeps getting in my way!
