If offered a class date would it be wise to take that offer? Currently flying a Saab with word of upgrade in next couple of months...

How is the overall vibe in the company. I know contact talks are under way. What about upgrade time currently... Also between compass and Expressjet where is best position in your eyes, I.E. waiting for a class date with compass in half a year or a immediate position with Expressjet into the CRJ?

Another CRJ class starts Nov. 5th with rumors of one starting on the 19th as well.

If all of us had answers to half of your questions.....we would all be exactly where we would like to be!! However; to answer some questions upgrade times in future will totally be different then present and past, secondly between Compass and Expressjet the position is where you want to be ----to say if you want to commute or have options of different bases, pay, benefits, etc. Last of all go with the first Jet class to get the experience, so you will have a choice to go to Compass six-months down the road if you want.

Shoot for the lifestyle you want right now!! PIC time on Saab or CRJ now days is pretty much the same, so go with lifestyle that will make you happy....with right connections you don't even need PIC time to move on to Majors or wherever you want to be!

Was told by one of my recruiter buddies yesterday that xjet is aiming to hire 70 next month assuming they can find enough qualified folks. Seems like a lot of people to hire for just anticipation of attrition.

If the upgrade on the Saab is really within a couple of months, I would probably upgrade and get 1000 hours pic before moving anywhere.

This is good advice. 1000 hrs tpic wont be the ticket into a major but it rounds out your resume nicely. Try and check as many boxes as you can. Stay at the Saab operation until you upgrade and build PIC time and then jumpship to get 121 time. good luck!

Trip7,

Not to hijack a thread but since you brought politics into it...

I'll continue to vote what is best for the country with the belief that it will work out best for me in the end. You can continue to vote for your personal checkbook and hope it works out best for the country.

I'd rather my union and current profession go up in smoke than my country and the freedom to make the best life for myself and my family take a hit.

For those considering bidding DFW and worrying about having to fly lot's of short legs, don't worry, American just announced XJT to fly between DFW and FAR using CRJ200. That's a long flight...

Is there any way to see the CPA? When the announcement was made to Skywest about their LA flying it included where they would be serving. Is there any way to find that out about the DFW flying?
