My reading of it is that the new hybrid lines will make it much harder for junior "vacation low" bidders to hold a line.

Funny how this Loa came out so quick. Why not just wait for the contract extension offer that should be out within two months? Something doesn't add up.

And the "REPS" of the MEC are in the crew lounges, yet again, trying to sell us a TURD.

Oh, and in the ATL LEC the election vote is running concurrently.

Wake up ASA sheep, you're about to get fleeced again by the ALPA leave full timers.

Hopefully XJT gets a TA soon.

Anyways I'm having trouble posting a new topic on here-might be my phone who knows anyways..

There has been a rumor that delta posted some crj900 pay rates on this site within the past week or so...first year fo is 70 and first year Capt 128. Surprised no one is talking about this. My buddy over at Mesa said his entire company is talking about this. Again, surprised no one has brought this up unless it's been posted longer than people realize

Have you read the alleged "turd"... Although I don't wish to fly in the right seat, I accept it as reality. I didn't make the poor choices management did, but yet I live with them and do what I can to make it better.

This LOA will make it much easier for long term FO's to upgrade and finally get a pay raise they deserve. Along with this, reservist will see a huge increase in quality of life. Moreover, the LOA is only for year, which shows you that they are likely going to use it to upgrade significantly. I'm not happy the way things have gone, but right now you are being asked to make a choice. Go down one path and the company may wind down. go down another and we might have a bright future. Even if you are senior and don't care anything about the other pilots on the list, you have to admit that it is a step in the right direction with serious gains. I know many lifers here don't care much about the absolute plight of our FO's, but you should. If there aren't any FO's to staff then you should start to worry about who is going to be in that right seat, ****hint, it's you*****...

Point is, listen to what the reps say, educate yourself on the language, and make an educated decision, rather then saying it's just a turd.

........ I said I wouldn't ever post on this again... you roped me in... shame on me I suppose

I am pretty sure Delta has had 900 pay rates for awhile now.

I don't see it that way. Vacation low will still be an option. Lets say the window is set at 75-105, with a 85 TLV. I'll lay out the few scenarios here:

  • You bid vacation low, so the window bottom is 65, with 75 TLV. It will still try to build you into that window. No change.
  • If you cannot build a line up to those hours, then you can have it award you a hybrid line with a few reserve days.
  • Or, you can have it award a straight reserve line.
There are no changes at all, other than even more junior people could hold a partial line instead of no line at all with vacation and vacation low.

It didn't come out "so quick". They have been working on this since sometime in early to mid summer. So 5 months or so.

+1 agreed to this. It has been in the works for a while. They finally found some common ground and agreed on something. I view it as we do gain quite a bit voting this in. The company benefits because they have captains trained and the training pipeline isn't full of upgrades when/if we get some flying.

The contract extension may provide some much needed stability to gain flying. Puts Union and co at ease for another year. Also, allows us to inform mainline that our labor disputes are settled for a while. I've had quite the concerns for hope of more flying or replacement flying. I believe this is something worth while. Much better than contract 2014 TA.

View it how you may, but improvements almost all across the board. I know it sucks for the new upgrades that they may be right seat some, but it's all at captain pay. Otherwise, they most likely won't see upgrade for a vey long time

That is just my point. Loa came out very fast after the announcement that we were moving away from jcba, but what about the individual contract extensions? What was so important that they needed this right now when I have been hearing that we will have a contract (extension) by Christmas? Somebody fill me in please.
