What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?
According to an e-mail from the ASA CNC, the company introduced the option of keeping two separate contracts while giving each side modest contract improvements. Sounds like the MEC with the CNC are going to explore this pathway.
I'm not saying that I would be opposed to that, but I would need more information on the recent negotiations between us and our mainline partners with regards to contract extensions and rates for flying (they're noticing, right?). XJT is crying that the end is near, but all the signs (i.e. EFB introduction) say otherwise.
Something smells here though. A few years ago, SKYW management was open to combining ExpressJet into Skywest and now we're headed in a totally different direction.

Our pilot group needs experienced negotiators, not the current get'er done group of stupid people. Wait until the rep outcome until any further talks. Concept... ***... Apply for a mortgage with a concept and see what happens

The rumor is Skywest is done with the merger and wants to run both sides separate. The ASA side may have some flying coming if they can lock down an extension. The other side may not fare so well.
I don't understand why any rational pilot would be excited about that? We need to fight for one list, not three!

Because sometimes, one isn't better than two. If the two groups cannot come to terms with each other, then why continue to spend money into trying to make them one?
From management stand point? It makes perfect sense... Classic example of divide and conquer. But from the pilots stand point,we have to focus on the big picture here! It's enough that we get a two way whipsaw against Skywest Airlines. The only winner from a three way whipsaw is management.

Why would the other side not fare so well?
