What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?
And I have talked to the Union about my decision to leave. They said we hate to see you go, but we understand. Please do us a favor and write a letter to management outlining the reasons for your decision.
Of course, I'll do it.

I can't think of another industry that such a significant increase in pay would be looked at by anyone as a bad thing. It's a good thing when people leave. It's telling management 'hey if you don't give us a better TA we're not going to be able to recruit people. We NEED more money and opportunity'. From a negotiations standpoint I think it's a good thing.
What it also tells mainline management is that they can send flying from one cheaper carrier to the next, keeping pay down no matter where you go. If the cheap carriers can staff, then mainline isn't forced to open their wallet to provide more money to the regionals, or to bring the lift back to mainline.

CASM is the data that is used to determine the efficiency of an airline. Do regionals publish CASM? I really don't know. The reason I ask is because the new deals at PSA and TSA appear to be at least equal to XJT's. My supposition is that the CASM could be higher at XJT because of the relatively more senior group here then at 'less mature' airlines. AWAC is generally considered to be the industry leading contract along with XJT. It really is impossible to consider every variable. AWAC just turned down their TA days ago. Our MGMT has said our issues can't be fixed by 'throwing money at it'. Our union has prepared us for an 'underwhelming' TA. The writing is not even on the wall, it's written out in your inbox. It's gonna be a crappy TA. And if I were to vote no should I stay here another 2 years waiting for another TA that won't pass muster with the pilot group?
So yeah, I am a data guy. Mostly data, and some gut decision making. We are pilot's. Aren't we trained to base our decisions on data?

I think that's a great question. And my data interpretation tells me that being owned by Skywest is a huge problem.

Maybe you're assuming what my needs and wishes are. I need more money and a 25-60% increase in pay meets that need. I wish for better experience as a Captain and the ability to log TPIC and that program meets that wish.

I'm a FO, not a captain. No way I will thank someone for giving management what they want.
