Question ASA/ExpressJet or PinnaColaba??

Not that I have the option yet, but say I get offered both jobs after my interviews coming up in 3 weeks. Which is better from a getting flight time, Culture, and Stability of having a job... point of view?

Thanks!

Both have good contracts. Pinnacle is past the merger. Crap shoot. Go where you don't have to commute.

At this point both companies are kinda similar like, they both have good things and bad, I would choose which ever had the best quality of life for you. 9E hasn't treated me too badly since I har been here. But I am a 2010 hire, so I only had to live that ok contract for a short time compared to the others .

Good luck on where ever you choose

Don't base your decision on pay - all regional pay sucks, the differences are insignificant in the long run.
Don't chase "jet time" - those guys are tools.
If you can live in base for either - pick that one.
If you can't live in base - pick the one with the easier commute.

All other variables, including the ones above, will change, so it doesn't really matter. If I were you, I'd take the one that offers you the job first and get that awesome 121 career rollin ASAP!

I don't know about specifics, but I'd go to whoever hires you first or gives the first class date. The only way I'd be picky is if I lived in a base one carrier offers over the other.

Most of the time I would agree with you, but since I have recently learned that from Emirates that you must have "heavy" jet time to apply, it depends on what your goal is.

Not sure where you learned that information. I know at least 10 guys over there, several hired in the last two months, that only have time in jets weighing < 50k lbs. last time I checked that's no where close to being a heavy. If that's where you want to go and you've got jet time I'd apply.

Do you see a theme here? Commuting sucks. Go for the one that is closest to home. Try to make your live easier.

If you want to go to Emirates, chose your job based on their requirements. Otherwise, if you want to go to a US mainline, cultivate your contacts..... what you fly rarely matters.

Where do you live? Are you willing to move? Are you willing to commute? What would the commute to the different domiciles be like? XJT side has a better contract. I dont know about the ASA side as compared to PNC's contract. Hard to tell how long upgrades will take right now. That would help me answer that question.

I'm not going to argue that all regional pay doesn't suck. It does....but to say the differences are insignificant isn't really true. While hourly rates may be similar, work rules will make or break your pay. As a 5th year FO, my total gross will be $52k, not including company contributions to the 401k, which is up to 12% of that. Max at Pinacolaba is 5.25% matching.

Health insurance contributions are another thing to consider as well. It will definitely affect your bottom line every month, and varies widely from company to company.
