This thread has become utterly ridiculous. I get you guys are hurting and need to let off some steam but lets just clear things up for the sake of clarity...
Yes there are some bad apples at OO and yes there are also bad apples at XJT, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that an airline with well over double the pilots of another will have more undesirables...would be exactly the same if XJT was the bigger of the two. And yes I have flown with more than a couple of them at OO so no debate they exist.
No they don't indoctrinate you to make you think you are somehow superior with mormon super powers. Of course they want to make you feel you are part of a team though and proud of where you work. Are you saying XJT tell you guys from day one that you aren't so good and they had no other choice but to hire you? I doubt it but if so, thats pretty sad.
Last I recall it is posted in a number of places that each staff member is to individually enter their code to access the crew area. Are you really truly trying to say pilots and FAs who follow the rules are somehow personally attacking you and your airline?
And just to be clear it's horrible what has happened to everyone at XJT. I have yet to come across anyone at SkyWest or elsewhere who thinks anything other, despite the ongoing conspiracy theories here that all OO pilots are out to get you guys.

Back in the day, before my first furlough from a now defunct airline, I used to commute regularly in EV and OO flight decks. I never heard an OO pilot say a bad word about another group. EV on the other hand, I can remember a handful of pilots ranting about their hate for OO. Like others have said, bad apples exist at every airline, but the feud between OO and EV is a one way street. It makes sense though. CC smothered EV with a pillow while taking the best parts of their operation and giving it to OO.

Regardless of what you think of SkyWest,
one thing I can say is, I never heard a Skywest pilot say bad things about his company. Been in their flight decks multiple times always showed lots of respect for safety, other crew member and their company. Having worked at XJT prior to the 2008 furlough and all I heard was “F” the company and all kinds of negative stuff. Having respect for your workplace might make you sound like a “company guy” but would also give you a better chance a longevity.

Well I’ll say one thing, if it was an FA that did it, I’m not surprised... they’re abused from day one.
They’re all terrified that they’ll be fired for no reason so non-policy anything would freak them out.
And the Indoc thing...
do you really think any company is going to say, “welcome to _______, the only reason you’re here is because you have 3 checkride failures and we’re the only one that would take you” ?
That’s just dumb.

Maybe, but this FA didn’t seem scared of anything. He was very confrontational with me. He was so outwardly adamant about it that it was amusing to me. Anyway, it’s no like there were cameras in the elevator.
I did have another experience with a skywest FA that could point to what you say. It’s a minor thing but it makes sense now if what you say is true on how skywest treats a subset of its employees. I was DH in uniform on a skywest flight. As she was going by and checking seatbelts, I was reading a newspaper that apparently covered my seatbelt. Something I’ve done dozens of times before with no one ever making a fuss about it. But she did because she couldn’t see my actual buckle buckled. I had no idea what she was talking about at first since I was concentrating on my article. I realize she was doing her job to the letter of the law, but her snootiness was not necessary, especially for someone who works in the industry with her.
As for indoc, I’ve been through three of them and never been told that I was there because they only hired the best. Also, the thing with Skywest Indoc isn’t just that. From my friends’ accounts they start with the anti-union propaganda on day one as well.
I’m just trying to explain from my perspective why there is widespread animosity towards Skywest pilots. I’ve personally never seen the animosity go any further than pilots just pointing out amongst themselves how out of touch they seem to be. Personally, I would like to see all pilots pitch in when comes to things like safety and security. Contract gains from pattern bargaining would be a good side effect. I think that until that happens, we’ll continue to see the silent animosity.

I can personally attest that the placard on the outside of the elevator proved I was right. I had three security personal, including the manager there when I pointed it out to them. They were literally ready to call the police to arrest me. The manager had to call on the radio tell their higher up that the whole thing was a mix up and that I should be released so my flight wouldn’t depart late. This was when XJT had a crew base in DEN, years ago, so maybe they’ve changed the placard. I honestly don’t know. If the FA actually read the placard as I asked him on the way out, maybe he wouldn’t have gone and snitched at me. But he literally would not look at the placard when I pointed it to him when we got upstairs. He literally walked to the nearest security guard and pointed me out to him while I waited in line to get lunch.
As for Indoc, the airlines I’ve been to, none of them made those comments. My guess is that they didn’t feel the need to tell their employees that the only reason they are there is because they are the best of the best. Maybe they were confident in themselves that after seeing the infrastructure and how employees treat you during Indoc that they don’t need to say anything. This is honestly how I’ve felt at two of the three airlines. I felt wanted and valuable without them having to say it. They proved it with their attitudes and their explaining all the benefits of working there.
Lastly, the other thing that may be just an XJT animosity thing is the whole purchase thing. When Skywest bought xjt, they already owned ASA. Combined, Asa and XJT has about 4500 pilots and 450 aircraft while Skywest had about 3000 pilots and 300 aircraft. About 5 years later, those numbers were reversed. It doesn’t feel like that was a coincidence.
