Yes, you can do a skype interview and receive a CJO. You just have to fly out there at some point to get the fingerprinting and drug test done.

Phone interview is more of a pre-qualifier for a interview in regards to meeting the ATP mins, etc etc

2 options for the interview; Skype or in person

It’s really more of the score on the technical part of the interview. I’ve not flown more than a few hours here and there recreationally in the past few years and was still denied the precourse. I do however have almost 20 years of flying and have a good understanding of how the system works.

That right there in addition to flight attendants recruiting and interviewing may be part of the reason the new hires are having such a difficult time in training.

In a safety sensitive position like this you need to have another pilot interviewing in person with HR as well as a sim evaluation.

Sure the costs are higher initially but the money saved in the long run will more than make up for it many times over.

Passengers don’t want to know their pilot was interviewed via Skype. The bar must be raised.

No wonder new hires are going into Aviate interviews thinking the job is theirs to lose...

While I believe that pilots should be doing the interviews almost all of the regionals are offering skype interviews. I don’t think any are doing simulator evaluations anymore.

In regards to Aviate, it is yours to lose. It’s just very very easy to screw up. There are many stumbling blocks.
