An open letter to GW
An open letter to Mr GW:
I remember on a Conference Call, Mr GW said “I’ve got a good grasp on the pilot group, I read the forums...” Mr GW, I indeed hope that is true.
I knew you when you were a regular line guy. You’re a great cat, but I understand that we both have different jobs to do. Me, fly the line. You, run airline operations.
Please know that this pilot group has been dumped on for years. You’re a LXJT guy, you know the pride that this company once had. Inc came along and put the reigns on anything and everything good that XJT once was.
This pilot group has bent over every which way over the course of the last 10 years to help keep this company alive. We have done everything in our power to be safe, dependable, and have always been willing to carry the weight of the company on our backs. If extra flights need to be flown. Done. Hurricanes? Massive snow storms? We’re here. Concessions? Cutting of the fleet by over 50%? We dealt with it. Need us to help and take concessions? Yeah we did that, too.
I write this to say, the LXJT pilots are unified and willing to send a “big fat no” if the contract is less than desirable. We have worked long and hard, and many of us are working on our plan “B”. We don’t need these airplanes. You do, for recruitment. Many of us are happy flying this 50 seater, but we do demand higher wages under this contract.
I hope you do get to see this, as you supposedly “browse the forums”.
