It's anyone's guess at this point, but United has been looking at ways to enhance the program. We will see.

Flow perhaps?

That’s definitely in the rumor mill. I’ve heard it might change to where you actually take the Hogan as part of the interview day.

“I can’t afford the pay cut.”
My favorite comment from the ASA captains I flew with for 8yrs while Delta was hiring. Asinine

I think something must be up, if nothing else a change. CRJ-200’s will start flying UAL in October but nothing on CPP for us.

For some of these guys, I think it's "I can't stand the idea of going to the right seat." Meanwhile you move on to pretty much any legacy/major (except for Frontier or Sun Country - which don't count), you're making a higher hourly rate as a second year FO than the highest hourly captain rate (18 years) at XJT. I did it and haven't looked back. You give up a bit on the schedule (which you'll get back after time) and some money the first year, but that aside, every single thing about the job and life is better than working at a CPA carrier.

If we keep the CPP I'm curious how it will be offered to CRJ side. On the one hand, I don't necessarily think we should jump ahead. On the other hand, we have some senior captains (myself included), who need to move on in order to make left seats available for reduced upgrade times. Not sure what the best balance is.

A ratio by size of pilot groups is a good method. Let’s say there are 1200 ERJ and 300 CRJ. Once the CRJ guys start being accepted, it could be integrated that way. 4 ERJ, and 1 CRJ. The same concept could be applied if there was a flow. One flow for every one CPP until the CPP guys are gone. I’m sure that sounds unfair to some people, but I think it’s about as fair as it gets.

At Mesa, United requires that pilots fly for the last 12 months under United colors to be eligible to move over through CPP. The rest of the requirements can be under another airline’s colors. I understand Xjet’s circumstances are different, but I cannot imagine it is more strict than that.
