If crew scheduling calls you while on a RAP and they don’t leave a message, are you required to call back?
If not required, but on probation, do you guys recommend calling back anyway?
Also, what’s up with text messaging? Also got a text that is from an unidentified phone number that just says, “Please cal xxxxx” with the CS number listed. No assignment, nothing.

I did call them back and they were trying to give me a legit assignment, but for some reason my voicemail was saying the box was full and they couldn't leave a message.
So kudos to CS for trying to do the right thing and contact me instead of just giving me an MA. I apologized for the glitch and thanked them for sticking it out, as it went over 15 minutes from the first call because I was so confounded by the way things were transpiring. I had no idea there was an issue with my phone, which I have since resolved.
Everything worked out, assignment made and flight on time.

I feel I need to update you all on this, so as not to create drama or an issue where there isn't one. As Highfarfast alluded, the multiple calls and the texts were the result of my voice mailbox apparently not working at the time CS called.

Thanks for the update. Seeing this is helpful and a reminder that we’re not always right.
I agree CS did you a solid with the text message, good on them for that.

Yeah, when I said the text was sketchy, it was under the premise that it was for a separate event. A call from CS that didn't leave a voice mail followed by a text to call CS, that's a red flag that there's something wrong with my phone.
Kudos to the scheduler who did this. I know a pilot here that had a phone issue he didn't know about and was given a MA.

The thing is that sometimes calls go straight to voicemail even if your phone is on and even worse, the voicemail notification at times shows up hours later which has happened to me (not with CS) but did happen to a buddy of mine, he was actually airport stand by recently and this happened, last i heard he was having a very hard time getting the MA removed. I guess texting could be an option in the future?? Maybe as back up

Speaking of a similar situation. Does anyone else have atrocious cell service at the Miami crew hotel? The second I get to my room - I drop to 1 bar, and intermittently lose the signal all together.
I have Sprint, and obviously our iPads are AT&T, but it’s the same situation on both devices.

However, crappy cell reception seems to be throughout floor and providers.
