Does anyone think they will base the 175 in Miami? I know republic fly’s the 175 out of Miami now.

Republic has over water equipped their airplanes. Until we do it, there isn’t much use for our 175’s in MIA.

ETOPS and greater than 50 NM over water are two very different things.

Anything you read on here is pure speculation, even the Envoy mgmt team plays catchup to AAGs sudden changing of plans.

There was talk of making our 175s over water capable and doing Miami or even Caribbean flying but that has since been shelved for now as it would add an additional 500 lbs to the empty weight and making the aircraft weight restricted for our Canadian flights that required alternates.

We could eventually have over water and non over water aircraft as the fleet grows and it become cost effective to do so.
