Not a great idea, and not smart to post this online in a public forum which is obviously monitored by management every now and then. Spirirt pilots did this last year and shot themselves on the foot when it came to their contract negotiations. They all got together and thought it was a great idea to stop picking up OT and encouraging everyone to do the same and gave anyone grief if they where caught picking up ot. Management Quoted APC posts on their lawsuit and won, since their pilots broke “the status quo”.
Lets all be smart, do our jobs and follow protocols.
We have ALPA and we gotta follow the rules.

FO. Age got very little to do with it. I, personally, don't have 30 years in the industry, let alone 40 at AA. Just had a class between "let's send everyone to LGA" and "let's give these guys unlimited commuter hotels and positive space to work", but before "lets just stop hiring into the CRJ".
CA side of the CRJ reserve blows too (less than half a year between being able to hold the line and actually flowing to AA at this time), but those guys are at least getting used.
FO side - average monthly flight time is around 20 hrs and dropping. Close to 50% of the pilot group sitting reserve, burning through hotels and camping at the crashpads.
950 hrs / 20 hr/mo = 4 years to upgrade.

Any details on the email sent by LEC121 sent out the other day? (NY base update) Specifically the part where it says, "We have seen an alarming increase in events where crew-members are going to company/chief and reporting issues."

I would guess it has to do with the influx of newer and younger first officers who do not understand that going to Pro Standards should be your route when having a dispute with a captain as opposed to running to the CPO. Obviously the first course of action is to talk through the problems when the flight concludes, but people don’t seem to want to have that confrontation so they are running right to management.
