I don't know anyone who cares about "sticking it to the man," but plenty of people want to do what works for them and if it mostly inconveniences Envoy in a way that they'll have to talk to ALPA to fix, that's a win in my opinion and you won't convince me otherwise. Playing games with things the company isn't obliged to do but that are mutually beneficial is not in this category.

I'll add one last thing. An FO that bids reserve for whatever reason isn't gaming the system or sticking it to the man. There's VERY few examples where I can think of pilots unfairly taking advantage of the contract and the only two I can think of right now is reserve guys bidding and purposely not confirming or CDO guys bidding the CDO and dropping the whole line.
Are people still doing that? Hope not, everyone will lose the option of CDO’s if it continues.

I certainly see a lot of CDOs hitting open time every month on the FO side, so yeah, I think they are. I'm kinda surprised the Union and the company haven't gotten together to figure out some form of rule that keeps it from happening.

I think they were worried when staffing was short, staffing is not short on 145 FO so if it is green it is green, drop away just like a regular line holder. If they are short enough the trips turn red and you are unable to drop, that is already at company discretion. Why could a regular line holder drop a trip and CDO holder be unable? Doesn't seem like that is something we should push for as a pilot group.

A select few decideing to disregard the unions advice and dropping whole CDO lines each month will force the company to discontinue CDO lines all together.
You think schedules are bad now, you should see them without CDOs.

For one, those CDO lines allow the company to create a lot better QOL schedules for all the pilots. Without CDOs lines would suffer and schedules would be a lot worse.
