If you take a voluntary seat lock after getting displaced, for how many months do you get the 5 hour override pay?

Seat lock is two years, so 24 months. If it's an airframe that you're happy with, you'd be a fool to not get paid.

Doesn’t bother you guys (people waiting for class dates since IDK when) that mr aviationchavez part 2 Swayne Martin got a class date in less than 3 weeks...... not fair tbh.

It does seem a bit unfair...

However, I don’t have any issues with aviatorchavez or Swayne, they are just helping get another generation of pilots interested and excited to join our industry. If you don’t like them, don’t watch them. Their YouTube content is not necessarily designed for current, already established airline pilots...

Like I tell my kids,
"Fair is what you pay to get on a bus."

It's plenty of free HR for Envoy. Maybe it'll backfire on them when he stops making videos since he's on reserve for 2 months without flying..

If hired today how long is the wait for a class?

Is it different depending on if you're off the street, RTP, cadet?

Noticed that too. Wasn’t Ute if he was a cadet or note since that never came up in his videos. It’s not that I don’t like him, but things seems to be moving awfully fast for someone who just makes videos. There are tons of good pilots still waiting on a class date. But as my DPE says “it is what it is.”

As in all things aviation industry, Timing is a fickle thing. It has no algorithm that helps make it more predictable. Other than DEC's, I have no idea if recruiting accelerates anyone's timeline over another, nor what's offered in class. One class date (FWD or Backward) can make or break your experience at a company. The class before mine, all got the ATR with nothing else to choose from. My class had a mix of all Three fleets at the time (CRJ, EMB, and ATR), we waited roughly 3 months for a class date, did IOE right away, sat reserve for about 2 or 3 months, and upgraded in about 6 years (in 2011). The classes starting the following month sat reserve for about 2 years, and the classes that came onboard near the end of that year saw furloughs and displacements.
Good times...

For me it’s stupid if they decide to give this guy a class date because his social media stuff when they have been sending emails and crying about people taking pictures or videos while flying. Still not fair, no one is better than no one. He should wait his turn.
