Dissregard previous answer. According to 11.E.b, you may NOT pick up open time. I could have sworn I had read somewhere that you could and it would simply be considered a reassignment... not that you'd want to do that anyway.

A: Crew scheduling will reassign you at the time you are notified of the displacement. If you are removed from several days of flying, then you have an obligation to check your schedule at 12 noon (domicile time) each day, on any day prior to a day that you lost flying, for any new assignments. It is possible, if you were to lose some of this new flying, that you could be reassigned to something else, but in this case the reassignment must not have a finish time later than three hours later than your new “original trip”.
11-10 Q: If I have been displaced from a trip for IOE, can I pick up open time on the days I was originally scheduled to fly?
A: After 12 noon the day prior to each day from which displaced, a pilot may pick up OT on days he was originally scheduled to fly so long as such OT doesn’t conflict with any reassigned flying.
So I read that as, say day one you get displaced at 9am, you check at noon and no reassignment, you can indeed pick up a trip or any flying really because it doesn't conflict with a current reassignment.

Hey everyone, not sure who to ask or where to look, but I was discharged from the military with a Uncharacterized discharge, Entry Level Separation. Would this affect me I’m getting a job with an airline (mainly concerning with my background check)? The person who processed me out said that it was a “no harm, no foul” type of deal so it won’t affect my employment or background checks.
I reached out to a pilot recruiter so I’m just waiting to hear back on what they have to say about that. Any other info would be appreciated! Thanks!

I would add though that in this day and age, your odds are pretty good that it will be ok. Best of luck.

Hard to say really. While there are certainly valid reasons for this that would have no effect on your ability to fly, others certainly would. I think it would all come down to the specifics.
