edit: I got to check out the C-series FTV-2 when they were doing steep approaches for certification. It is a really cool airplane and far more capable than anything Embraer has ever conceived of.
Yes, same with the E-175E2 (MTOW too high). Should make nice additions to the mainline fleet, however.

(With apologies to the old phrase, “If it ain’t Boeing, I’m not going.”)

Has there been backfill on these recent vacancy bids?

Is an already awarded but displaced captain subject to the 30% rule when switching equipment?

-Keep the dirty side down

Blame your company for being cheap. Heck they even tried to put old Saab universals in the 700 but Canandair wouldn’t let them.

Need answer to a question asked by someone. I can’t find the answer. Question is about Captain Rate of Pay upon bid award & First Officer Option!??? What is this “First Officer Option”????

Reference: our recent LOA titled STANDING VACANCY FOR UPGRADE.... its on page 4 of that document.

The section is titled CAPTAIN RATE OF PAY UPON BID AWARD: “If any such awarded pilot elects to invoke the First Office Option Pursuant to 15.J of the Basic Agreement, then his pay will revert to First Officer pay on the date such option is elected.”

I looked at our contract section 15.J that was referenced and it says this:

Section 15: J. TRAINING FREEZE 1. A pilot who voluntarily bids for and is awarded a permanent vacancy that requires upgraded training or training on a different equipment type will be subject to a fourteen (14) month training freeze, except that: a. All turbojet Captains will be subject to a training freeze of twenty-four (24) months.

Nothing in Section 15.J referenced above talks about a “First Officer Option”... What is this First Officer Option, that is confusing to me.

Are they saying not to Preference Bid ( 3P), to only have a Displacement Preference (3D), if you want “ CA Pay Upon Bid Award” ???

Without having the LOA in front of me, I believe it was the opposite. You have to have a 3P for a captain status in order to start receiving CA pay upon the award.
