Do you have a new hire pilot mentor?

Log into the my.envoyair site. Click on Travel Planner. Explore a bit. You’ll need to enter some details and don’t remember all it entailed but was able to figure it out on my own. To create a jumpseat listing on an AA flight is the same as an Envoy flight, just use the Travel Planner to list for a flight and use “D2”. I’ve never jumpseated on other airlines so can’t help further there.

myIDtravel won’t be available to you for 6 months.

Is the myIDTravel availability 6 months from DOH or the completion of IOE?

Whatever you do and regardless what anyone else says remember to politely “ask” if you may ride the jump seat. Lots of captains get bent out of shape if you have an entitled attitude towards the jump seat, whether it be AA or any other airline.

Like everyone else said, get with your new hire mentor, when you get a chance, for any and all questions re life on the line. In the meantime, ALPA has both a general jumpseating guide with etiquette tips, as well as airline specific listing procedures.

That being said, if you get a seat in the cabin on an AA / Eagle flight there is no need to check-in with the captain because you are using your employee benefits and are no different than Jane in accounts payable who is going to El Paso to visit her slam piece for the weekend.

If you get a seat in the cabin on ANY OTHER AIRLINE (unless using a ZED), then you need to check-in with the captain.
