If you bail out of the cadet program it's everything they've given you plus $500. Honestly, Envoy is a pretty great option if you are a cadet though. 175 Dallas out of training.

175 DFW is not being offered to ANYONE right now. Hasn’t for about eight months. There is a group of guys that got 175 ORD that were able to bid back starting in August.

The only thing you can really count on being offered at Envoy right now is 145 LGA. Every thing else is a crap shoot.

Go back through the posts and look at the class drops. With the number of 175s we are taking, it is LIKELY it will be offered, but whether ORD or DFW and the length of time to get from one to the other is just something that is a moving target. For someone who is looking at the cadet program NOW, by the time you are on property, Envoy is likely to be a different company.

No one a year ago thought we would have DECs and forced upgrades.

Bunch of Feb 175 hires were awarded DFW on the last bid. I generally agree with the thrust of what you're saying though, plan for the worst case scenario - worst position in the regional industry - 145 LGA/JFK. The best case scenario at Envoy is pretty good, though. And your odds of not getting it as a cadet in any class since they made the class seniority change are very small. The only cadet I know that went 145 did it by choice for bases.

He didn’t say the were awarded DFW 175 on day one. Pretty much all 175 guys in training are scheduled for Base transfers before they finish training or shortly after.

For a guy in Miami I find it very difficult to say that a better option will be on the table in two years. If you live anywhere else then sure the landscape can and likely will change. Endeavor/RAH isn’t likely going to become a an even better option then they already are. SkyWest isn’t an option. For a MIA based pilot that would choose a Envoy now will likely choose Envoy in 1-3 years from now. Even then I think Envoy will be a better choice in the future than it is today.

There may have been those hired into the ORD 175 as recently as February that were awarded DFW on the last bid. My point is, this most recent bid was the first opportunity for anyone hired since October to bid back as well. Timing is everything and there are just too many variables to count on most things.

For someone that wants MIA, yes, probably won’t have to wait long to get it... on the 145. Don’t count on it any time soon in the 175.

If you really want a 175 RIGHT NOW at Envoy your best shot is as a cadet. But that is a recent change as well.

With the current emphasis on DECs and all but stopping the flow off the street, who knows what will happen. They are spending a lot of money on RTP. Cadet program doesn’t cost a lot, but with a stack of people who want in off the street, Envoy could just as easily decide it is money they don’t need to spend on either program. Some one posted there are a lot of companies being cut from the cadet program. I can’t verify that, but again things change and if you have to move to be in the program, then that changes your dynamic as well.

According the the interactive seniority list the junior 175 captain is in ORD and is a 7/16 hire. The junior DFW 175 captain is a 3/16 hire.

Off question but this is probably the best place for it. Could someone explain actually what “junior manning” means? Is it just using the lowest guy on the pole for the last and worst trips open? Thanks.

Junior Manning is scheduling taking the most junior legal person available and sending them on an overnight into an off day, because no one else is available to cover the trip.
