Question: if we can self clear why do we have to bring a note or do anything but sign in FFD for he next trip? This “clearing sick” BS just sounds like intimidation. Not to mention if I have sick time to cover the trip, isn’t that what it’s for?
The language in the FM1 and the contract is the same.

At least I don’t have to worry about them telling my parents on me!
Edit: I took my kids in for shots last week during school hours. Doc offerred me a ‘school note’ for the kids and a ‘work note’ for me. I guess he assumed I missed work for the appointment but it struck as weird. I’ve never before been offerred a work note for going to the Dr. Maybe this is becoming ‘a thing’ with companies now and I’m just now seeing it with Envoy?

Yeah I got asked about it in DFW last week. I just shrugged and told her I flew my next trip FFD. Then we had 30 seconds where we both stared at each other like we had dicks growing out of our heads. Finally she asked if I wanted her to clear the sick call. It was weird. Not duct tape, sea monkey, and Kerry Gold butter weird, but I think we’re letting them flex on us a bit too hard in the CPO’s office.

I have not had to call in sick yet but I tend to agree in that bringing a doctors note feels a bit like getting back to school and going to the principles office to give proof of the absense. This is the first job I’ve ever had where this was a ‘thing’ and I’ve had quite a few jobs over the last 25+ years.

I'd be careful. I just heard a rumor a number of probationary FO's were just let go after failing their probbie ride. Don't know how true that is, but it is in line with them being fat on FO's. If your HI10 doesn't look pretty decent and you have an issue on your ride, might have some issues. But then again, I have no clue how true that rumor is. I heard it from my father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
I heard the other day if you get fired u dont have to pay back bonus money, is this true

Come on man. I bet she thinks it's just as crazy for us to clear sick calls as we do. Don't give the office people any grief. If they are nice then awesome but if not just avoid and be professional.
