So 2-4 months. Thank you. And during that time, one can expect to fly less than when on the line, I assume?
You said in a previous post that a RSV guy could fly as much as 700 hours per year. I would love to hear from people who have a line as to how many hours they have flown in the past 12 months at ENY.

Looks like most were deleted. Trying to clear it while he can, but a lot of people already saw it. Always important to remember that aviation is a small community and you never know who might see what's posted online.

Everyone in the recruiting department is top notch. I am sure there is a lot more to this story. Or there isn't and something about your attitude, demeanor or body language said red flag.
I have been on the recruiting team at two other organizations and if an individual was putting anything less then their best foot forward during their entire recruiting process to all parties they interfaced with, I would not recommend they move forward in the process. If the best they could do was subpar how are they going to be when they are actually on property.
Take this as a learning experience and be 100% focused on making a good impression and your interview from the initial phone call with someone from the company until you are back inside your own home. If you have to pay for your own cab, extra night of hotel, call in sick for your current gig. It's worth it. You are interviewing to work at American Airlines.

My point is I think your claim of up to 700 hours the first year, including 2-4 months of RSV, is inflated. I would think the lower realm is more likely, say 350-400. Hence, I would like to hear what others are flying their first year, if anyone wishes to volunteer their times, so we can get a ballpark estimate.
You tend to put out accurate info normally, I just find the claims of what a new hire, who will sit a bit of RSV their first year, to be a bit over the top. Maybe guys ARE flying that much at ENY, I would just like to hear actual numbers rather than anecdotal claims. Not for me, but in the interest of accurate info for potential new hires looking at a new career. Not trying to stir your pot, just trying to establish if it's accurate or not. I know what was true a few months ago in this industry can be 180º out from what is happening today.

Thank you for sharing your time with us.
I'm not a new hire, but last year I transitioned to the 175 when it was a new aircraft in January. So my experience was similar to what a new hire would come across. Attended long term training for 2 months then spent about 3 months or so on rsv until enough guys filed in beneath me to get me off of rsv. I tried to fly as little as possible throughout the year and ended up flying 600 something hours for the year. So if you're someone who is wanting to get hours, you'll have no problem flying 700+ hours your first year.
