Not true. My award date is for like april or something but i went directly into CA long term, just took my FED ride and am headed to LGA now. I hope everyone remembers to check to ensure pay protection for captains!

Anyone know how to volunteer for the DFW reserve list when I’m LGA based?

You can’t.. crew scheduling won’t allow it. You have about 25 guys ahead of you looking to do the same thing my friend. Welcome to La Garbage!

Most junior 175 award 1979. One 145 FO already quit.
So, what if the street captains bid a different aircraft besides the 145? The way new hire seniority is ordered these guys should be able to get a CRJ or 175. How are they forcing them to take the 145?

Part of the HVA agreement I’m guessing.

And what would that small victory be?

I guess I'm lost here. What contract violations are we talking about? The company can hire street captains. The Assignment of equipment for NHs isn't contractually negotiated. Finally the company does something smart and applies a seat lock to a new CA instead of a displacement with no seat lock.

He has a point. But not sure if a seat lock is a good thing for the pilot.

I beg to differ: the contract states the following.

“INITIAL ASSIGNMENT
1. New Hire pilots will be permitted to bid for their initial domicile assignment after all currently qualified First Officers are offered the opportunity to bid for such vacancy. Awards will be made in seniority order among those pilots in that training class.”

So if they are forcing HVA to accept a CA position when their class seniority can allow them to hold an FO position then that is a violation of the contract.
