Not correct. Once the TL is coded in your HI2 you can trade the remaining sequence as a stand alone trip, because the TL gives you 30hrs of rest. The previous month sequence isn’t tradeable once the next month bids are posted ATTOT is turned off for those end of the month Transition sequences. Crew scheduling would have to do it and they won’t. Also, with a TL that original trip had most likely increased in hours so if you want more pay or flying not good to trade it.

I don't know if I would call the decision to hire 900 pilots "**** poor", but I would say there are some unforeseen problems that have come about. I'm all for hiring new pilots. Increase my seniority!

Keep up the forced upgrades and displacements so I can hold a CA spot with a better relative seniority. However, I would prefer the forced upgrades to stop for the betterment of the company and the pilot group. The only way we can stop the forced upgrades is if we start selectively bidding to create as many training cycles as we can. There can not be pilots being displaced EVERY SINGLE BID! There needs to be push back on this issue. The pilots weren't the ones who threatened to shut Eagle down. The pilots weren't the ones who ran off over 1000 pilots that would be qualified to be CAs right now. I understand that displacements happen! However, we can not have them every bid. Displacements, in many regards, destroys peoples QOL.

Wow, didn't know this was a thing. Maybe because I haven't done it and gotten screwed out of pay yet. I've spent a fair amount of time reading the contract looking for info on transition conflict and I've missed this condition. Seems like once it's coded TL, it should stick. Anyway, can you elaborate on details or point me to where to see this in the contract? Are we talking about trading out to different days or are we talking about trading to any other sequence even if they are on the same days (leaving a conflict in tact for the dropped flights).

Lima alley could be one of two places, the K alley where we park, or the other side where Spirit is, so it isn't very descriptive. K alley is only one place as the opposite side is the Y. I know how much guys want to get into the Y, it's definitely always a goal, but for now stuck in the mud in the wrong alley.

You are correct. Once it’s coded then it’s final. You get paid and can trade the remaining sequence as you wish. It’s treated like a new sequence.

It's the Kilo alley. You'll hear some guys call metering and say they're in the Lima alley, which is incorrect, but ground usually knows what they're talking about and not say anything. And if you park on the other side at H1A, you'll be in the Hotel alley. As the other guy pointed out, the gates in between the Kilo alley and the Hotel alley is the Y.

It is in section 10 E. Search the title. "Month to Month Schedule Adjustments"

I wouldn't mind doing this, but I have no idea how this would work exactly. Perhaps a scenario would help paint a better picture.

So Joe is forced to upgrade on the CRJ. Before he finishes his Fed ride he can still bid back to FO. Well, Joe also has vacation. He puts his vacation on the 3rd or 4th week of the month after the bid comes out and in a time frame he may think training footprint will occur. This blocks the company from sending him to training. The first week of the month of his vacation he can rebid his vacation. While Joe is in training for CA he can PREFERENCE bid back to FO and get forced to UPGRADE again to a different equipment that he could hold. CAs in DFW and ORD that is not on a proffer to displace freeze could proffer to displace to a different jet. Pilots displaced to CAs on the CRJ/145 could bid the CRJ/145/175.

Disclaimer: don't take this as advice on how to bid. However, if you do decide to do this then talk to your union rep and ask about it first. Don't the advice of someone you don't know on an online forum.

Guys on the SAAB/ATR strung this out for over a year when the 145 was coming online and SJU was closing. Some would call out sick during training. If you missed a couple/few days of 121 training then you had to restart the whole process over again. Not sure how it works with AQP.
