The truth is that none of it really matters once pilots get to mainline. Most mainline pilots don’t have a clue about what happens at the regionals and most new hires at the regionals don’t have a clue about what happened 4 years ago between the AA WOs. Those of us who have been here for a while do remember. But the flip side to that coin is that there may be only 100 or so (maybe?) pilots left at PSA who voted on the 900s. And of those maybe only 40-60 were yes voters. The rest of them “got theirs” and are at mainline or another major carrier now.

The backstabbing helped a few individuals with quick upgrades and apparently soon-to-be quick flow. At the same time it stagnated and ruined the careers of many fellow members of the same union.
Just because it was "4 years ago" doesn't make it OK. Many folks are still suffering from the mayhem. I'm sure you can understand if many of us can't simply "forgive, forget, and move on."
Happy New Year.

Please don't pretend that the pilots who rushed to staff said 900s are guiltless. All the yes voters and all the pilots who rushed to staff the 900s in the immediate aftermath are to blame. Both groups validated and enabled the whipsaw.

Yes, there were many who came here because of the massive growth. And there are still others like myself who are here because it afforded them the best opportunity for good quality of life while trying to move on to their career destination.

I agree: in my opinion, this segment of the industry offers inferior careers and an inferior product.
These are my personal opinions, and not the opinions of any other entity or employer.

Not to alter the flow of the recent posts, but have a question regarding pay... Just got notified that I was displaced off of a trip in January due to IOE. I was not reassigned to anything else. Do I still get credit for that lost trip? It also stated that I could be reassigned prior to noon on the day prior to a new sequence. If so, do I still get paid the greater credit of the two trips?

Thanks. One more newbie question (just want to make sure I don't screw myself), if I request a trip on Open Time that has less credit than my original trip and I get it, do I forfeit the greater pay?

You are pay protected for your original trip but you’re better up picking up an OT sequence on your actual days off so you get paid for the displaced IOE trip and the OT trip you pick up on days off. If you can pick up something on days off that bumps you back up to 100 hours cumulative in 28 days then they won’t be able to use you on the days you were displaced from.
