So is this company going to keep upgrading FOs with no experience basically and new guys coming in to Envoy indefinitley? Not only is this unheard of but it’s unsafe. Do they even care? When that clause was agreed to back in the day they never thought people wouldn’t want to upgrade. They need to do something that would entice the senior guys to take the upgrade instead of a guy that has no idea what they’re doing.

Someone asked earlier how long until the DFW base transfers will be on reserve. This vacancy answers that question.

ORD, LGA and MIA as well. ORD, LGA and DFW will all be over 100 lines again and MIA will be around 60 by late spring/early summer. Since we're bringing back 49 E140 and sending far fewer than that to PDT, that fleet is going to see massive movement over the next six months. That will likely force out CR2 flying by Skywest in ORD based on total RJ scope and the line projections from that email. It may not be our sexy fleet but it will see a lot of upward movement soon.

Interesting how so many concur that our Federal Government’s response, the FAA’s response, to the Colgan crash was to make the minimum hour requirement for regionals 1500 hours. Yet, now we argue out the other side of our mouths that making an FO a captain after X number of hours pre-121 and 1,000 hours (minimum) of 121 experience is NOT sufficient to become a captain. What poppy-****!
You argue out of both sides of your mouths with generic statements.
If there are individual FOs who are unable to serve as captains, their fellow pilots should make it known to the company and to the union.
Neither of them (Neither Envoy nor the union) wants to see an air accident after they signed off on a captain at 1,000 hours of 121 time.

Minimums should not be the standard when it comes to moving into a position of greater responsibility and accountability. Some people are ready, others are not. What if someone had their 1000 hours flying a turboprop back in the 80’s. Do you not think they should get some time under there belt first and learn the operation before being forced into the left seat?
