Eh, sure those things could be better. Staying near to friends and family, keeping daughter close to some of the top medical for her condition, school choice, cost of living, not having to commute long term to achieve those things. In 10years these things won't likely change much, whereas pay, work rules, and even the ability to have a job can change overnight. Having seen and experienced both the 9/11 and 08 drops, I'll hedge my bets to where my family can establish happily versus chasing a different version of pay check.

I’m starting class 12/18. I’m told we will be in Dallas 12/18-12/20, then off until 1/11.

If a 135 operator is using a DC-3, you would have to have an ATP, if a 135 is flying a CJ3, you would have to have an ATP, if your flying a Navajo in scheduled commuter operations, you would have to have an ATP.
The intent is for any PIC experience which was performed for a certificated operation and that operation required an ATP certificate for the PIC, that flight time would count towards the 1000hrs.
§ 135.243 Pilot in command qualifications.
(a) No certificate holder may use a person, nor may any person serve, as pilot in command in passenger-carrying operations -
(1) Of a turbojet airplane, of an airplane having a passenger-seat configuration, excluding each crewmember seat, of 10 seats or more, or of a multiengine airplane in a commuter operation as defined in part 119 of this chapter, unless that person holds an airline transport pilot certificate with appropriate category and class ratings and, if required, an appropriate type rating for that airplane.

No it doesn't. There are commas, which means it should be read as: no one can be PIC of a turbojet aircraft, no one can be PIC of an airplane having more than 10 passenger seats, no one can be PIC of a multiengine airplane in a commuter operation... without an ATP/typerating/category-class.

What kind of FO lines can you get, or should I say can pick up to get my base salary up in the 70k range. Is that realistic? I’m looking at the regionals and I don’t quite understand the lines, reserve, holding a line. Just curious how much time u need to put in? I’m used to having only 5-8 days off a month in the 135 world, so I don’t mind the hustle till I make captain. Thanks in advance!

But that seems to be slowing down. Base has alot to do with it. If you wanna make money you need to go to LGA or ORD, hopefully that will give you minimal reserve time so you can get a line fast and pick up lots of OT (open time, always paid at 150%, critical OT is 200). But it's really hard to say how long reserve will be by the time you get there. 70 is possible, but not super likely. Unfortunately it's not just a matter of hustle.
