I’ve heard from several different people that there has been some “street captains” hired somewhat under the table. Anyone hear this?

A junior pilot with 500 hours 121 or less would likely get the 175 before a 1000 hr NH pilot would. MAYBE. Who knows.


Mind shedding some light on the “30 percent rule”. This is new to me.

There are rumors the training department wants to do CQFO. A prospect may have been told this. CQFO is basically street captains, but turns two training events into one. Not sure how pay will work out. I would think that this requires a little negotiation with Envoy ALPA

Example. 100 175 ORD vacancy comes out. No more than 30 slots will go to current CAs. 70 slot will go to FOs.

Contractually the company can hire street CAs. They have to notify ALPA with some information before they start.

It will be interesting how the next vacancy will shake out.

A lot of ifs here, but if I came to Envoy to fly the 175, I would wait for for upgrade on the 175. If the tried to force me to upgrade on the 145 they could either give me 6 figures or I could give them a resignation.
By that time another airline will be hiring street captains again, maybe Endeavor on the 900.
