Watch out if you're on reserve next month: If your OT flying carryover falls on reserve days, you will only get paid your reserve guarantee for those days. To get paid extra hours plus premium you have to have it fall on your days off. It's actually in the contract somewhere.

No. Just within 7 days you need your 30 hours. Regular duty time regulations apply.

What about picking two OT trips (separate sequence ) on the same day? Is it legal, if so how far apart they have to be?

This is true. Could possibly happen as soon as the end of December, but more than likely early next year.
