I don't understand how the company thinks this is a good idea let alone safe! Why would you upgrade the lowest seniorty guy? He/she probably doesn't have any good experience to be in command. Not that this should be happening at all but if anything it's the senior guys that should be "forced" to upgrade. This whole thing makes no sense. I think when they agreed to it they expected to have guys with plenty of experience not 1000 sic. What happened to Saftey being priority?

The part about how terrible this whole thing is how it's going to impact someone who is a new hire and a refugee escaping from another airline. With this imposed upgrade they might end up being miserable.
LGA for the next 5 years 2 on reserve as everyone above you keeps trickling in as a captain and kicks you to the bottom ultimate in the **itter QOL

Safety wise I am not worried unless a person has been asleep at the wheel for those last 1000 hours. Unless of course mentally they don't feel ready and lack the confidence of being in command. Then it's truly wrong on so many levels
The part about how terrible this whole thing is how it's going to impact someone who is a new hire and a refugee escaping from another airline. With this imposed upgrade they might end up being miserable.

If I said the thought hasn’t cross my mind I would be lying! They can keep there bonus.. to be displaced to indefinite reserve to have to commute is not worth a few bucks to me at least!
