I'm just curious, are we required to update the 7Y page correctly with prior experience? The correct entry in the relevant parts for me IS zero but I keep getting HI6 and emails to update it. The last email said if I don't update it, I won't be eligible for upgrade. Well, I'm not eligible anyway. But what about someone that would be based on prior experience? Seems like a way out for someone that doesn't want the upgrade.

That would work if all my new hire paperwork matched that. I wouldn’t want to risk getting in trouble for not updating our times, when we specifically were told to do so.
Union said there working on getting addressed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like the contact was not intended to force upgrades. My guess is, at the time it was written, a forced upgrade was not conceivable and the wording was subsequently overlooked. Now that it is actually happening, the company has decided to take advantage by interpreting the contract to mean that which was not specifically addressed. Too bad the company can't incentivize the upgrade rather than pulling a "gotcha...should have read the fine print."

I put zero's in the form on my end and stop receiving emails about it.

So I should make up some numbers even though I don't have any qualifying time in order to upgrade? Should have thought of that sooner...

Imagine the news story if something were to happen with a "forced upgrade" at PIC. "The pilot in question did not want to take on the extra responsibility as PIC but the company forced him/her due to financial constraints."
Hopefully they come to their senses and do something to incentivize upgrades instead of forcing someone who may not want it, or worse, is not ready.

On the other hand, way to run off the experienced new hires that we so desperately need.

The union guys are saying every night they are negotiation with the company on how to resolve this... they said to expect an email before the 11 when the bid is published
From the Union contract guy today..
The union is also outraged from what they said about the double bonus being offered to the previous 121 guys... they said they rather have that money implemented into the contract.
