These last 5 or so pages have been extremely helpful. I was just selected for the Feb. 27th class. I'm excited to get started and hopefully help take some pressure off of the long timers that have been burdened with tough schedules for so long.
Thanks again to everyone that has posted information to help us newbies learn, we appreciate it!

Training timeline
So I understand that Initial ground training will consist of 6 days of Indoctrination, 2 weeks of at-home Computer Based Training (CBT), 2 weeks of ground school and 2 weeks of simulator training back at the Flight Academy, and finally 25-40 hours of Initial Operating Experience (IOE).
My questions is can we stay at the training hotel for the 2 weeks of at-home CBT ?
Also do we need a laptop for CBT or iPads/other tablets are ok ?

First day, hopefully you can get DFW, but if not, pick the 145 so you can transfer later. The sooner your class date, probably the more likely you will get DFW when the next vacancy comes out. The most recent vacancy awards (Jan 14) put everyone that wanted DFW there, including the 2nd from the bottom guy on the seniority list (Dec 19th new hire). That means, if you get on right now, you should hopefully be one of the most senior new hires when the next vacancy rolls around. If there are DFW FO spots, you will be one of the first to get it. There is a rumor that vacancies will be coming out every 3 months this year, which means you could get DFW before training ends. I don't know what to tell you though, if there are not DFW FO slots on the next vacancy. Also not sure how long it takes for the transfer to happen either. Just trying to give as much helpful info as I can.

That's the tentative schedule. Indoc is as you described. My class had nearly a month of being starting ground. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I feel like we did more than 2 weeks of ground. They book you a ticket home after Indoc. I highly doubt they'll pay for someone to stay at the hotel from Indoc to ground. Again, the two weeks off between Indoc and ground are tentative.

Unfortunately no. The CBT's are flash so unless you have access to an emulator that doesn't suck (the two they suggest suck) then you're better off doing them using a computer. Even then it's an old program that's difficult to navigate. It covers all the systems. Pretty detailed. More detailed than you'll need to know for an oral. I think there's 20ish lessons. They average under an hour each, but some are pretty long. You do the CBT and then there's a 10-15 question quiz over the material. They changed how they assign the lessons between my class and now so it might be different. I can't see them anymore since they aren't assigned to me.
