Very straight forward, no one is there to screw you. Study hard and you will be fine.

The ones who struggle/fail are usually the loners that don't do any group study because you don't know what you don't know until it's brought up in a group setting or being put on the spot.

Default LOE

How does a typical LOE sim check go at Envoy? Is it just A to B, B back to A?

If you express a desire to keep moving forward, acknowledge and own areas you need to improve, you'll get through. Don't quit!! Evaluations, sims and IOE can be confidence building experience or humbling. Don't beat yourself up! Express your desire to do it right. On the other hand....Develop a bad attitude, blame others for your situation, off you go. Be aggressive in making sure you have the tools and time to prepare. Envoy will walk you through the process and prepare you at every step. They are there to support you but if your iPad fails, or you can't download manuals...take the initiative to get it fixed. Don't wait for someone to come along and cater to you.

I thought it was 30 days but may be wrong. Have a copy of your marriage certificate and kids birth certificates with you at indoc.

Yes but expect something along the trip that requires breaking out manuals to resolve.

Be able to look the examiner in the eye and say you did your absolute best.

They aren't out to get you but they are looking for 100% effort. They can tell when someone was lazy or can't take responsibility for their actions.

You've pretty much got the gist of it. Work hard and study hard. It's very straight forward and they don't try to trick you. Yes, there's a 3 strike rule but it takes quite bit to actually get fired. They will bend over backwards to help you as long as you're putting in the work and having a good attitude. It's all about attitude. If you're a snot nose, entailed little a hole then they're not going to be as inclined to work with you.

Thanks everyone for the input and advice. I'm ready to study hard. Just nervous of course.

If you start getting gotcha questions then you are doing good. If you know your memory items, limitations, EWBS, TPS(know what each number and letter represent), know what each button does in the cockpit, and know major FM1 items. Beyond that know how to look it up and if you don't know look it up. No one is going to fail you on a gotcha question.

He/she is going to start off with limitations and memory items. Knock those out and then you move on to EWBS, TPS, and MEL. EWBS and TPS is straight forward- what is this number? What does this mean? Do you need to do a static takeoff? Then you get into takeoff situations and they may ask about taking off when wind shear has been reported or TS is in the area. Then he is going to sit you down in front of the paper tiger and ask you what happens when you select and deselect each button. They are all fair game so know what each does. Know the first flight of the day checks because you will get at least 2. Study and know your stuff and learn how to say it right. Most like it if you say it cleanly instead of fumbling your way through an answer you actually know. At this point they will hit all the systems and first comes Electric because it's on panel A.

Read all the systems sections in AOM1/2 and read through a lot of the QRH checklist information. Good luck.

I highly recommend spending your lunch working with the FMS trainer, and stay late if you need to as well. Flows, call outs, and memory items can be practiced in the hotel, but you only get so much time on the computers.
