I think you're being a little overdramatic. Most of the things Skyvector said have been spreading around the schoolhouse for the last week or two anyway. I'm not sure what false hopes and aspirations you're referring to but I really don't think what he posted is causing current pilots to pass on another legacy because were stocking up on 140's and 175's or new hires to magically come here based on rumors of a PHX or PHL base.

A new guys experience with Envoy
As a prospective new hire I liked what I heard about Envoy but the mention of poor QOL and schedules had me concerned. I made the move anyway because of all the other factors and was hired in November. For the uninitiated this is an update on my experience so far.
Details- Commute, DFW based, E175
-Hired in Nov 16
-Finished training in Jan 17
-Finished IOE early Feb.
- Reserve balance of Feb and all of March. Used all company provided hotels during reserve plus had to buy 6 at my own expense.
-Awarded a composite line for April. All trips commutable, 11 days off, 2 weekends off including Easter. Working with crew scheduling I was able to move my 1 reserve day to later in the month to take a 4 day vacation.
-Awarded a hard line for May. 80 hrs credit, all easily commutable with 14 days off.
I'll keep posting updates of my experience for another few months.

Q-92. What is the maximum FDP for a split duty assignment?
A-92. The total time of the FDP and mid-duty rest opportunity
cannot exceed 14 hours. A split duty assignment cannot
utilize the 30-minute and 2-hour extension provisions of
Part 117.19.
I did fly with one guy where the company wanted him to extend it to 16 hours. He pointed to this guide and scheduling didn't care. I don't think he ended up needing to extend it.

Pay for one (if my research is correct things aren't great at Horizon right now). The main reason, however, is that I'm transitioning from helicopters and at the time Envoy was the only company that not only welcomed my Part 135 Heli and Military experience but also offered to pay my transition costs.
I also like the idea of being able to flow to American at some point in the future. My understanding of the training here is that it is top notch, which is important to me, and I am looking forward to a flying position where safety isn't just a slogan (although I can only assume Horizon does well there too). Finally, I'm not opposed to moving to Texas in the future if I can get based there but we just can't do it quite yet.
I'm excited about the transition -and- a little nervous about the long commute. Any help would be much appreciated. I'll be talking to a couple of my friends at FEDEX and try and get dialed in on their schedules...maybe that will help.

It's going to be an all night 2 leg commute to get to work and an all night 2 leg commute to get back home. Sounds pretty tough, but everyone is different and has different tolerances and expectations of what the job is.
I've been doing a commute my whole 121 career and while I'm sure it sucks for someone that's been home based their whole career, I don't know any different, so the commute is just part of the job to me. Good luck with wherever you end up!
