Embraer HUD
Not a waste at all. Maybe not as important on a two pilot aircraft as a single seat fighter, but being able to look out for the runway at the bottom of an ILS while still on the instruments can make the difference between a good and safe landing instead of a missed or at the very least less than stellar landing. But I guess when the company questions a few extra gallons of gas, you can't expect them to pony up for technology either. Personally I would like to have both.
Article in the new AOPA mag about the new system in the Embraer Legacy. Other similar systems out there but can turn night 0/0 into day CAVOK.
I'm not a "child of the magenta line." I learned how to fly iron gauges and ADFs, but I like technology when it makes things easier and safer.
