Also assuming your a newbie try asking the higher seniority guys how they feel about all your bonuses.
Really guy? First of all why would I be so stupid to do that. And I can actually say the people I fly with in numerous occasions have told me how happy they are the industry is finally turning around and that's it's not our fault but management. So just to clarify no body is mad at the new hires for all the bonuses we get. The more experience pilot s are mad at management. Also if they were so mad at me why would they go out of their to help me out so much with decs, picking up trips and just overall showing they appreciate us.

Theoretically your argument means if they ever did this then you should only be mad at management. I doubt we'll see DOH seniority rehires but some airlines are all ready giving new hires longevity acquired at other airlines.

Shouldn't have bought into the eagle lounge fear grenades and bailed. Live and learn, man. At least you didn't do like a couple of fellas who left Envoy for Mesa back in 2014. Talk about drowning in regret. Spoke to a new hire recently who's brother left for Frontier last year and is having epic regrets. I know an Italian guy who also left Envoy for Frontier last year and is wishing he could find a DeLorean and go back in time to slap himself in the face.

FWIW, there have been some jabs about the bonuses since I've been on property but they have ALL been friendly jabs, not bitter... and only a few of those. Everyone seems very happy with all the hiring.

Just because we were underpaid doesn't mean they should be. I've never heard any senior people complain about it.

Also without those bonuses we don't get new hires and we all benefit from having new hires.

Both of these ideas were discussed even when Envoy was only hiring a handful of guys a month and desperate for new hires. Those ideas were always shot down. And now that we're hiring over 60-75/month, it most definitely ain't gonna happen.

Yes agreed, but bonuses is a back handed slap to current employees. It should never have been allowed. It allows the company to keep wages down and momentarily lift them for a small group of people who haven't put any work into the company.

I understand that i indirectly benefit from the bonuses via more NHs, but there needs to be a different approach. We gave the company a easy/cheap way out.

I certainly don't regret leaving. I've been a captain the last 4 years with unprecedented QOL.

Unfortunately, AAG really gutted this airline and scared off hundreds of pilots. And unfortunately, while many of the guys are happy with where they're at now there are tons of guys that have huge regrets about leaving. You can't really blame them for their decision to leave time though. Our future looked just about as rosy as XJT's future looks right now and looked about as rosy as AWAC's future did a few months ago.
