Bid standby if you want to fly. If you can't get it, RAP 2 (provided you are fairly junior). Ask to get released daily before 7 PM if you do get RAP2.

So bid standby if you want to fly or RAP1/2? I thought if you wanted to fly RAP2 was the way to go

How does one bid for standby if the rest of December has been built and not bid for bc of IOE, or is it a proffer option?
Look at your specific bid packet.
It will say something like
00001 - RAP 1
01111 - S1
when you proffer, you put those lieu of the sequence numbers.
Remember that if you have a standby in your proffer, you will get it before any rap preference. I.e., if you're asking for rap1 and s1, you will get s1.
Not familiar with your fleet, but in general standby won't fly for as long as a rap pilot can be used. As in, standby sucks whichever way you slice it.
Rap1 and 2 and who flies more - that's fleet/base/seat dependent.

The questions I read on here! Not knocking you but short answer is: YES!
“Welcome Aboard” packet from union. Take a quick look at that.
Fleet specific bid packets take a quick look at the front page.
Much better resources than APC....
1. “Welcome Aboard” packet issued by ALPA during Indoc! Almost all questions you think you might have is answered in that packet! It’s a great read, clearly written, well explained details I wish I had during my indoc days, or 1st year.
2. During IOE, your IOE Instructor will go through many things with you before released to the line, including bid packets. If not just ask. If not quick Crew Room visit. Just ask anyone.
3. Two days of base Move Day & 1 Base Indoc Day. Plenty of time to ask someone.
4. Again Plenty of time to walk the crew room to find a FO or CA to speak with.
5. Also contact or email your mentors, fellow union members/LECs/P2Ps.
Talk and interact personally with fellow pilots, do not be afraid to ask pilot on property questions in person. It’s ok to not know it all. Asking questions build relationships! No question is silly, really good people on the line willing & geared to help.
*If your a Cadet and not on property yet, no need to worry yourself knowing the details of Bidding codes AVRS and DEC codes.*

That welcome aboard packet from the ALPA website is how I got my info (including standby vs RAP) it is a terrific resource! I just like to ask to confirm my understanding as well as make it public knowledge for those too nervous to ask in person.
In regards to asking guys in the crew room, that’s solid advice to everyone on here reading that works here. There are a TON of guys who are willing to help, I was very surprised to receive welcoming advice and got a lot of help.

Asking in the crew room how to do something is good. BUT anytime someone in the crew rooms starts blowviating on contractual issues (and every question there seems to steer back to contractual issues), dive into the contract and verify. There’s a lot of BS that gets spread around in the crew rooms that’s simply not true, even from pilots that have been here a long time. I highly recommend getting very familiar with the reserve section of the CBA.
If you just want an easy way to proffer, get Quicktrade and read the front of the bid packet so you know the codes to enter for RAP and standby for your equipment and base. The trade features of the app will be more or less useless to you on reserve but it’s still the easiest way to proffer and keep track of the reserve list to see what everyone else is doing and also seeing what’s in open time for both the days you work (to predict what you might get assigned) or for picking up OT on your days off. You can do all this in mobilecci/FOS but Quicktrade is MUCH easier.
As someone else said, if you put a standy anywhere in your proffer, no matter the order, you will get the standy before the RAP even if you put the RAP first.
If you’re trying to fly, put yourself on the turnback list. In FOS, RF 100 VOL will instruct you how to do this.
