IF major/legacy hiring demand causes attrition to bring flow for a new hire today down to 7 years, then one will be able to beat flow OTS at another airline that pays more with better work rules.

I won't be able to beat the flow. So flow is #1 for me.

Did you sell weapons to the Taliban or something in a previous career?

Nope, nothing like that.
I have 10+ years working with various ATS. I've done some consulting with Taleo. So I've got an idea about how competitive I would be.

I can't beat the flow either, at least not yet. Still working on my college degree. Until other airlines remove that as a major barrier to entry, I have to continue working on it and wait for the flow.

There are always reasons people choose where they want to work.

I'm projected to flow in mid 2019. Does our vacation time get paid out when we flow or should I plan on using all of it in the first half of next year?

I'm not exactly sure on this but I hear if you use PVDs borrowed from next year then you don't have to pay it back.

Vacation gets paid out, sick time does not.

Not sure about the PVDS, that’s a good idea

Not sure why you wouldn’t use the vacation and just work it. If you take the vacation and work it you are getting paid vacation plus making a minimum of 150% on top of it (possibly 200% if it’s CC). If you don’t take the vacation you are losing out on that 50%-100% extra. Essentially you are making 200% instead of 250%-300% by not taking it. It makes no sense to just have it paid out when you flow. Hope I explained that well enough.
