Check this out.....

Two years ago
- the regionals we're paying 38% less than they are now (then $22ish now $37ish)
-There was no sign up bonus at most
-there was no retention bonus at most

A year ago the rotary transition program didn't exist amongst the aviation regionals (still doesn't at most).

While there's nothing wrong with kicking tires now, the information in 6, 5, hell, most likely 3 years will be worthless. And I don't mean kinda different.

I mean flip phone vs iPhone different.
I mean prius vs monster truck different.
I mean, "oh crap, she's got an Adams Apple" different.

Except all those OTS and Mil hires which go straight to mainline and are ahead of you forever. And that's 1/2 of our new hires. Sorry to burst your bubble

Question

Gents

Sorry if this exists elsewhere, my dumb*** could not find it, let me ask:

What is real-world annual earnings/pay for

1. new hire, Year-1

2. brand new Captain Year-1 (I assume this upgrade is now running at 2-2.5 years after hire, correct)

Thank you

Can't speak to CA $, but as a second-year FO I'm currently bringing down about $44k a year in the bank. That's after taxes, health insurance (just me) and dues. That includes per diem and all my quarterly bonuses. Lineholder with weekends off, never pick up open time. First year should be higher, with the larger bonuses yet slightly lower hourly rate. Yes, you do make less your second year than your first at this airline, all things being equal, because of the bonus structure.

That being said, this is my third regional in 8 years of 121, and by far I am happiest here. If I were 23 again and this was my first 121 gig, I'd be giddy.

How do the FO retention bonuses work. Say I was hired in July last year, would I get the full $2,500 bonus in September or is it prorated?

When were you hired? Because if you start saying some arbitrary date back in 2016 you will get different answers.
