You guys like to live with "if's" and "when". Hopefully I won't be here then unlike other not so lucky lifers.

Again, this aint 2010. Captain time no longer required. Spirit, JetBlue heck even Delta has hired many First Officers without captain time.

But whatever rocks your boat brah. If you wanna sit here and wait till that upgrade by all means, have at it.

Exactly. Many don't get it @E175Driver.... They need to talk to old time mainline pilots hired in the past major hiring wave of 90's. That whole "1,000hrs PIC TURBINE" was not a factor, So many FO's were getting picked up left & right. As well as Capts. This on coming hiring wave is going to be even greater than the past (pending world wide economic and geopolitical factors). I also hope that mainline takes back flying from low ball feeders (mesa, etc.)

Past hiring trend is a key to the future hiring trend & competitive market for pilots. (Higher regional pay, QOL improvements, flow, CCP, Delta interview, strategies etc. are not out of the kindness of mgmts heart, its necessary to get bodies in the door.

Remember folks, there are plenty of pilots out there, its not a pilot shortage, just that pilots were/ are willing to work for deplorable waged, QOL, schedules, bases, career progression/upgrades, etc).

Pay attention to some of the class sizes, photos, and age demographics, 25% - 35% of some classes are being filled by middle age and older 35 - 55yr olds) now entering the regional industry. Some are comming back after having left for many years.

The step advisory language doesn't apply to protected pilots.

Too bad senior FO's are getting shafted, but this isn't 2010....
You really have absolutely no clue how this company/industry does things do you? Enjoy your artificially high relative seniority in that seat while it lasts... You "may" get lucky.

I am on displacement number 5 here throughout good times and bad. When one fleet shrinks OR they decide to move equipment to a different base for whatever reason they choose, displacement bid comes out. Your life and status in base means absolutely zero to their planning and last second changes. You'll find out soon enough. Doesn't matter what the current industry looks like they can displace anyway, and if you think they care about costs of doing it, think again.

There is a reason everyone here says the exact same thing. It's called YEARS of Experience. You should probably learn from it instead of thinking you know it all after a few months. You are always safe in status here, until your not.

While what you said is true, management is keenly aware of the things that drive away new hires and the things that keep them. Each WO management was rushing to be the first to go public with their new retention package. If word got out that they screwed a bunch of new hires through a displacement then their recruitment lines would go silent. They wouldn't dare do it unless there was an act of god.

But This same scenario played out years ago on the CRJ when they started moving it around between bases. New hires were super senior (for a while) with other senior FO's getting shafted. Then things went back to they way the should be.

Who knows what will happen but the new hires on the 175 thinking they are immune from seniority are just being naive.

They should Enjoy it while it lasts. They are in a lucky position. For now.
Additionally, of the next 300 FOs upgrading the VAST majority of them are coming off the CRJ and E145. While some of the earliest E175 new hires will likely make out very well a larger percentage will remain at their relative seniority in seat for a much longer time since upgrades will be driving their movement after a certain point.

Temporary seniority bumps usually level out over time and that will likely be the case here.
