What they're trying to say is that is your first 3 years as an FO your total compensation will be 165K.

$20K for everyone?!
So I was looking at the airline profiles to see if they upgraded Envoy's page to reflect the new announcement and saw this:
Does that mean that even if a new hire selects the E175 they still get that extra $5K that previously only went to those willing to accept the older airframes? Or is that a typo/mis-print?
I would prefer DFW 175, but am debating whether the extra $5K would be worth taking the 145. I have heard negative things about the airframe. Wouldn't mind the CRJ, but it's only available in ORD, and I don't want to live in/commute to Chicago for a few years. I can deal with it for a few months if I could get the 145 and transfer back to DFW though.
•All Envoy new hire pilots receive up to $20,000 signing bonus, payable on their first day of training.

Obviously if it were that bad of an airframe it wouldn't be flown, and every frame has issues at one point or another. I'm excited to get into a jet, helicopters always took too long to get places.

The reason there's more to hear about the 145 is because there have been more of them. Do we need to blame the 737 for being a poor airplane when there have been recent pack and engine failures? No... there's just a lot of 737's around so we hear about more failures on that type. The 175 is growing in numbers so we should expect more issues to crop up as that fleet type overtakes the 145 series in numbers.
The 145 is a good airframe. It's getting old, but it's still good.

Among other negative things from a source in the industry. Of course as with any opinion, mileage may vary.
