Day before you can proffer for the open trips, if there's nobody ahead of you that want it, you get it. If you didn't proffer for a trip, but nobody ahead of you request it, they assign it to the most Jr persona available in the list.

There's different standby times, also if you don't get a trip, you get either 4am or 10am RAP (reserve availability period). After they call you from any of the rap you have to be at the airport in 2 hours.

Theres a lot of stuff about reserve, but that's the basics.
Got ya, thanks. So it sounds like if you have enough people under you, you can proffer for trips and avoid the airport standby.

Anybody have experience commuting from Los Angeles to DFW?

If they do the 200 next year, it should come by fall. Not holding my breath...the only thing I care about the upgrade is the $$$. Other than that, I'm happy with my QOL.

I chose Eagle because I knew that if I got stuck somewhere, I would still be happy. Yes, last 3 years hasn't be easy on us, but overall I've been a line holder for long time.

There's a point in the reserve in which you won't be able to get what you proffer, either get called. Usually when you are about 40% senior on the RSV list.

I don't know about that commute, I do know that your AA benefits will be better that if you go with a NonWO. Now the JS rules changes...it used to be AA by seniority, then Eagle by seniority.

Now is AA, then Eagle by check in time. So if you're the first one on the stdby list from Eagle, you will get the JS, even if a senior guy shows up.

Is that how the non rev benefits besides the jump seat work as well? After AA, ENY priority by check-in time?

No, that's only the jump seat. For non rev it's actually better. AA and Envoy (and I imagine PDT and PSA) all have equal boarding priority based on check in time. And "check in" is done electronically up to 24 hours prior to departure. All this applies not only to you but anyone else you have listed for your passes such as spouse, parents, friends, etc..

This is why the 3 wholly owned AA regionals have the best flight benefits.

This...

Everybody have the same priority, just check in 24hrs prior and your chances to get a seat are better.

5yrs commuting and never had to use a commuter policy. Just try to plan ahead and don't forget to check in 24hrs.

I am a 2013 hire and on reserve. Let me tell you it is a living hell. If I had chosen PSA instead, I would have been in the left seat for a long time now. The only people flowing here are 1999 hires. The most junior captain on property today is a 2007 hire.

Do yourself a favor and ignore these paid company interns on here that talk about what a magnificent utopia Envoy is. Seriously, do you think a regular line pilot would gush with adoration over the company and state that they would step in front of a bullet for Envoy management?
So we are all paid company interns now? What an idiot. If you really do work here you would know "this" company would never pay a dime for people to say anything nice (obviously).

Nobody has said this is a Utopia. Most agree this place is crappy just like every other regional out there. Things have been bad with all the shrinkage, we all stagnated. Everyone knows that.

What do you think is going to happen in 2016 when we flow 300+ and lose a couple hundred others to outside attrition though? We are only shrinking by 6 aircraft in 2016.

Can you do simple math on what that means???? Have you even bothered to look at the seniority list to see all the years with hiring gaps?? Things are about to change. Get in at the front of the wave or go compete for extremely difficult to get Legacy jobs by going to an upgrade mill. Whatever.. 30+ Pilots going to AA starting in January. Some are even Envoy FO's street hired. These numbers projected to continue all year.

Thank god some of you don't get the super quick upgrade like the accidents waiting to happen at PSA and others, Because you don't have a freakin clue what is going on around you.

>Envoy Captain. Living through this crap with the rest of you. Makes no difference to me personally if we get new hires or not..

So Mr. ENVOY CAPTAIN, I believe the idiot you are referring to is yourself if you cannot do simple math and understand more airframes + less pilots = METERED FLOW.

Envoy isn't there yet. They still have a couple hundred bodies to lose. However, if we keep the CRJ's longer as talked about the net airframe loss is only 6 in 2016. With those numbers, we are going to be very close to the min numbers necessary to operate the airline on a daily basis. Please tell me that you aren't one of the idiots who says that Envoy will keep flowing and park planes?

Let me assume the role of a 5th grade schoolteacher and give you a math lesson:

1954 - Current Envoy pilot list

Minus 300 - 2016 flows
Minus 100 - 2016 voluntary resignations/retirements/medicals

= 1554 Total pilots

+ 150 - 2016 New Hires

= 1704 Total pilots

That's 1704 pilots at the end of 2016. For how many planes? Well, if all the CRJ's stay through the end of the year:

CRJ - 35
EMJ 140/145 - 98
E175 - 3 (Now) 24 by Year End

157 Aircraft - We know that about 10 are leaving in 16 for PDT so:

147 Aircraft = 11.6 pilots per plane

That's about the min number needed to operate 147 aircraft.

Bottom line is that new hires HAVE to keep coming in. And the numbers need to be way larger than what we've been getting. About 180 in 2015. I estimated 150 in 2016 due to the hiring environment and things getting tighter in terms of pilots supply.

So the question again is: Do you think Envoy will flow 300 PLUS in 2017 unless they shrink more or start back up the CRJ transfer to PSA in earnest? Sure, it's contractual to get 50% of the classes. That hasn't stopped them before ESPECIALLY when the operation is in jeopardy. Us guys have seen up to 40% of the total pilot cadre on reserve this year. I agree with you in that this number is about to drastically change along with higher value lines because Envoy will have NO CHOICE.

I'm not saying the flow isn't going to keep going. I'm just saying that the BIG numbers we've seen so far will drop drastically as metering begins after the last of the 824 leave.

Enough of your insult hurling. Back up your post with some hard numbers just like I did. Feel free to refute these but have some facts. We are all tired of the pro Envoy BS around here.
