Currently and for the foreseeable future, dropping trips is an impossibility due to low staffing levels.

I got the 175 in the most recent class at age 31. There were still 2 or 3 175 options remaining after my choice.
To whoever had 0.0 flight time in the last 24 months, I'd suggest getting your IPC signed off on. Also some sim time to practice more of the stuff you'll be doing in the simulator (holds, approaches, MAP's, STAR's, SID's etc). Make sure you're detailed in your log book concerning exactly what you practiced.
Apparently they don't always catch lack of recent flight time until the review board gets ahold of your file. Good luck. It is possible.

Thanks for the info. Great minds think alike. I got my IPC in a Frasca 142 two months ago. I'm considering dropping skydivers out of a 182 for a few weekends at an old employer of mine to get 10-15 hrs in the log book this year. Maybe instead of that I'll go back to the sim. In the event I wish to reapply to Envoy, do you know how long I would have to wait?

Depends where you live. If you are starting next class Lga might still have some short term upside to get off reserve quick as they fill the base with new hires. But honestly I think reserve times will be short on every base. Ord will have more trip variety more destinations. LGA might have a lot of day trips. But that is all speculation.

175 has DCs in it. Two-prong. Cockpit is relatively quiet. I don't use a noise-cancelling set and have been just fine (and in my CFI days I couldn't go WITHOUT noise cancelling).

A few of the holiday inns give them. I'm on the crj so we only have a couple hotels. Emj pilots may have more luck.
Rap(reserve availability period)- is a window you are assigned for reserve. I forget the times, but say 4am to 6pm, or 10 am to 12am, or ready reserve(kind of crap) you come into work to sit at the airport, and you're not paid for the whole time, alpa likes it that way.

If I remember correctly, the first CRJ was chosen around spot 9/31, the second around 18/31, and the third around 28/31. They weren't auto-assigned to the last 3 or anything, so average age is mostly irrelevant. Ages seem to be 26-36 or so.
