It depends if you live in base or not. If you commute then it's pretty easy to get a later start. If you are unable then call crew scheduling the day of and say you are commuting today and ask if they have any open time you can pick up or an overnight. You get OT pay and a hotel. Second we have a turn back volunteer list so you can keep getting extended and getting over nights. Being a little proactive can help with getting over nights.
If you live in base it's ok to be junior. You will work everyday. If you don't want multi day trips then sitting ready reserve will pretty much guarantee that you are home most nights.
It all depends on how much or little you want to work.

It should be offered (about 6) but they usually go to the oldest guys in the class. 5th class will be one week of class and then a min of 2 weeks delay before aircraft training starts. With holidays and eves off. 19th class you go the 19th and 20th and then go home and come back the 4th to resume.

This was discussed on a phone call. The company decided to mail checks out and not let the union do it. This they went to not updated addys the union had and when this.was discovered the company put a stop payment on the checks.
