Usually when you show up to class they list what positions they need. A random example for a class of 25 would be:
10 DFW 175
10 ORD 145
5 LGA 145
They let the senior person in the class pick first, and so on until all slots are filled. Junior person in the class gets whatever is left. Back when I was hired seniority in class was based on age, I have no idea if it still is or not. Some airlines make it random instead (like last 4 digits of SS#).
Currently DFW is senior to ORD for FOs, and it takes I think about a year (just guessing). But with general movement in the airline increasing I would think it would improve (no guarantees).

After 7 years in 121, I'm actually quite happy here at Envoy.

I Interviewed Monday of this week, got my tentative offer at the interview and passed CA review board Friday.
I live in Houston and will be commuting. Envoy's plan is for me to finish ATP-CTP class starting the 17th and jump right into indoc on the 24th... however, I haven't been able to get answers for a few things so far:
1) Is initial bidding conducted by airframe THEN base? (obviously only applies to the 145... CRJ & 175 would automatically determine ORD/DFW... assuming this excludes LGA)
2) If, for some reason, I am only left with the CRJ... what are my options regarding switching over to the 145/175 (for an eventual DFW bid)? Will I be stuck on the 700 for a long time or can I bid to switch to a different airframe? Is there an initial seatlock or only after an airframe change?
3) [part of #2 kinda]... if I am awarded 145 ORD... how long would it take to get back to DFW?
4) Yes, my questions are getting tedious, but thanks for sticking in so far... what are the company regs concerning switching airframe at same base in the long term (i.e. seatlock for situations if I was currently on 145 @ DFW and really wanted to get on the 175)
Thanks in advance... I tried to research as much as possible and I know it might seem like i'm being picky... just looking to clear up all the questions I have had.

Hello guys first of all, let me thank you for all the useful information you have been posting on the forum. This is my first post as I'm mostly a newbie. I have tried with the search function and haven't been able to find something. I'm considering all 3 of the WO carriers; My question is if I go the cadet pipeline route do I still get the sign in bonus of $15k?
Is there anything that specifically says that by signing for the pipeline you can't get the bonus?
Thank you guys in advance any information will be greatly appreciated.

That's what i'm hoping for... I'm only 27 so I have no clue what the average age of everyone else in Indoc. will be.
Are my odds decent at getting the 175 at my age? Is there even a way to predict this at all? (HR wasn't able to give me an answer during the interview process)

I'd be open to the 145 ORD as well. A base transfer will not take long with the type of movement we are seeing. You could possible hold DFW out of training, if not, I'd guess about 3 months later.
The 175 is still only slated for 40 deliveries. So for anyone put on the 175 in December or January, they could end up being very junior on that aircraft for quite a long time, since most FO's upgrading will be coming off the CRJ and 145.
The 175 was a nice option for a quick seniority bump for a while, but without more deliveries, the FO list could get a little more stagnant than the others.

Thank you, Sir, I shall pass this info along. How's the current newhire reserve time looking? Still 18-24 months?
1st year min guarantee with the 20k bonus for 145/CRJ is about $54k gross. 2nd year with the 10k retention bonuses is about 46k gross. All assuming min guarantee only and no per diem. Training pay should bump that up a couple grand for first year, but only a couple depending on how long training takes. I spent two months at home with full training pay waiting for my turn in the 175 sims in STL. Would've been better at $37.90 an hour instead of $25.80, but still not bad. With a 76-hour line this month, with per diem I should bring home about $2800 net for all of October, and I was hired in late April. For me, the retention bonus nets me about $1750 extra every 3 months.
After 7 years in 121, I'm actually quite happy here at Envoy.

On the 175, it's less than 6 months. My DOH is 4/25/16, I'm holding a line this month. Can't speak to the 145 in either base or the CRJ but I assume it's longer.
