I'm not pro company/union but I've been working here for 10 years and have no reason/s to complain.

being a regional pilot is not how I want to end my career but I've been happy here, i ignore the "issues" that are out of my control!

I was told as a new hire that:

*upgrade was 4 years
*saabs will not be parked
*LAX/LGA/JFK bases will not close

I, like the majority of crews commute but STILL - I continue to report for duty day in and day out without complaining because this is the profession I chose for myself

If AA/DL/UA all offered you a dfw base but two weeks later reassign you to their NY/NJ bases due to growth, what will you do then? call them liars? walk out of class?

You're the one who started this baseless rumor on Eagle Lounge...only got 1 reply all day, and so now you are coming over here hoping to start more crap?

Let me ask you what I should have asked you on Eagle Lounge: do you have any proof beyond hearsay? You "heard" this and "heard" that....great. Any proof? Any word from the union? Have you contacted a single rep? A single P2P person? Did the thought that firing people for going out on military leave sounding absurd ever cross your mind?

Then again, you are part of the same group that actually believed the company was sending out private investigators to follow EACH AND EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL pilot who called out sick. Do you also want to buy some land I have for sale in Tonga?

Once again, did you ever get any proof of the private investigator rumor? Did it ever occur to you that it was one individual who was abusing the FMLA system who was caught red handed? Again, did you ever ask the union about it? Because I sure did. And all this cloak and dagger tales from the interwebz was loony tunes.

And now here we go again. You didn't get the attention you crave on Eagle Lounge so you are hoping to get it here. Well...you have the full undivided attention of at least one very envious Piedmont pilot who lurks in Envoy threads. Ask him how he is liking our oldest E-145s from the 90s...


*Edit: Ok..maybe it wasn't you on eagle lounge. Just checked and it's similar usernames, but slightly different...but the rest of the post stands.

What's the latest rumor? Military leave now? Lovely. Next rumor will be that they are firing people for going to the bathroom during a turn.

lol...just gets better and better doesn't it? if i didn't know any better i would say these are people from other airlines who start these rumors just to get envoy guys stirred up. What ever happened to that whole private investigator rumor? Everyone lost their minds for about a week then it died out. I heard it was one individual..thats what the person I spoke to in the union told me anyway.

I don't want to start any rumors or ignite any fires over this...the best thing to do is what you have already done. Contact your reps or someone in the union and ask them.

But as far as I know, what you heard is correct. There was someone who was abusing FMLA and *possibly* working a second job while out on leave.

He was asked about it, denied it, asked about it again, denied it again, then confronted with pictures that proved what he was being accused of. I don't know all the details, so I won't speculate...but that's the ballpark. The company had reason to believe he was abusing FMLA and turns out they were correct.

Speaking as someone who has taken FMLA multiple times during my years at Eagle/Envoy...I have to say that if true, this guy is a jack wagon...and I'm only calling him that because the swear filter won't let me call him what he actually is. 99% of us are honest and actually need FMLA from time to time for actual reasons such as the birth of a child. Then along comes this guy, abuses the system, lies about it, and in the process makes all of us look bad. Screw him.

But no...the company is not paying money to have a team of PIs track everyone who calls out sick. Goes to show that if you write it on the internet people will believe just about anything.
