With that said, the answer to your question will depend on the particular carrier. I fly down to Central America on United often on a Jumpseat pass, but they only allow it if there's a seat in back. So, you're riding using a Jumpseat privilege, but you can't sit in the cockpit if you're not a UA pilot.

If you're on the EMB-145 you could probably get it fairly quickly, if not straight out of class - on CRJ-700 there is no DFW base, so that would require a displacement, meaning it would take a long, long time (most likely) - on ERJ-175 it's only in DFW.

Last round of FO's that came to DFW from ORD just got the base transfer Aug 1st have about 8-9 months company seniority. On the E145.
