Ya, I am just thinking that this guy is most likely not a regional airline pilot. I havent seen too many regional aircraft that are not packed with passengers on the AA side lately, so the 40 passenger thing is a little off. If he had said 70 passengers, it would be more believable.
Also, most regional aircraft do not operate at or above FL420. Most all top out in the FL410 region.

Not withstanding the fact that your writing style matches up perfectly with a couple other screen names here why is it a big deal if the gate agents have a policy that doesn't allow food and beverages next to the gate that somehow the rest of the crews are above it? I've never heard of any disciplinary action being taken over it. Have you?
If you find this acceptable that is fine I have no beef with that. Me personaly I see it as yet another way this management has absolutely nothing better to do than go after crews for the dumbest garbage.
So please educate me on this policy as the original poster did not clarify all the rules regarding this policy? Does this mean a Captain is not to be trusted to check their schedule or print out his or her own release at the gate if they have a cup of coffee with them? Are they required to take said coffee down to the aircraft place it on the flight deck unattended then go back up to the gate?
In all reality again in just my opinion, this just shows how inept management at Envoy is. Clearly food and beverage at the gate could be an issue if passengers and gate agents turn the gate into a dinner table and thus a policy needs to be in place. But a flight crew passing through waiting to get to their aircraft or doing a few task at the terminal before boarding needs to worry about making extra trips down the jet bridge or find someone to attend to said coffee is retarted.
About as dumb as TSA confiscating a flight crew members lighter going through security. But going off you rationalization I would assume you are in favor of all airline employees going through regular screening at TSA. No liquids above a certain amount as that is their policy correct?
Seriously this looks like just a bunch of lemmings running this place. The policy says this so do it or else. You are not allowed to think for yourself and wear your big boy pants once at work. The fact that management would send an email out regarding this issue says it all to me.
But seriously if they sent out a company email bringing this issue up your a fool to think they will l not discipline someone failing to toe the line here.

The only thing I see is from a few post back. One that stated the company will now be going after flight crews for doing such.

Because Envoy management essentialy are no different than babies making babies. Surely you have seen teenagers getting themselves knocked up and having kids when their just kids themselves.
Adults can see that yes the gate agents have a policy in place regarding this issue and are smart enough to understand why that policy is in place. then take that knowledge and apply it as an adult would.
But not this management. They truly have nothing better to do when they start sending out emails to micro manage where the flight crews are allowed to drink a cup of joe.
Next thing they will implement on you guys is only sippy cups will be allowed on your flight decks because you all can't be trusted not to make a mess.

Obviously go skers is not a proffesional aviator. So I will treat he or she as such.
This mentality from Envoy management should be a huge red flag to any proffesional aviator out there wondering if Envoy would be a good fit for them.
I have flown part 91 135 and 121 and have never seen any pilot group treated with such disdain and hate than what this pilot group endures on a daily basis.
I have no doubt they have many meetings on why they can't get bodies in the door. Looks like they are even throwing money at the problem as well. Would be a lot cheaper to purge that place of all the inept managers that have nothing better to do than chase coffee criminals.

Ok so let me treat you accordingly. I have not stated who I have flown for or who I fly for. How you need to interpret that fact is you have no clue who I have flown for or who I fly for currently.
I said I flew parts 91,135, and 121. What that means is I could have flown for any 121 carrier or I could still be flying for a 121 carrier. It also means I could have flown for any 135 carrier or still be flying for a 135 carrier. It also means I could have flown for any part 91 operator or could still be flying for a part 91 operator.
See how that works? That is how the adults read and comprehend.
As I said earlier clearly not a proffesional aviator.
