It's getting there for sure. Give it another year, the regionals will be so desperate to keep this C scale afloat I'm sure you'll see crazy things.

Rantings?
My perception is distorted?
Now that's distortion of the facts. How many ex-eagle have you spoken to at AA? I see them all the time. They all have the same story - it takes a long time for the eagle fears to wear off. The checkride paranoia. The worry about being hassled for delays. Lied to by scheduling. Lied to by management. Being treated as part numbers. Treated like children. Having to fight for (and often still losing) contractual rights. Wrong paychecks. Incorrectly coded delays. Christ, the list could go on for pages.
Yeah, I'll be doing everything I can to forget this place, except for the awesome people I work with every day that keep their chin up despite being screwed with and screwed over in multiple ways every month.
That's reality.
So's the fact that Charlie Bucket will never make the 2.5 he was promised last year. Nor will your ever changing total of three hundred and something-odd pilots flow to AA this year.
You must be Eaglefly's or agxxx's DFW desk twin. "Rantings". "Perception of reality." You guys sound alike.
But I'm the crazy one, right?

I find it kinda funny that we have two people who don't even work here anymore so concerned about our future!
Things haven't been great here for the past few years, but good things are finally coming to those of us who have stuck it out. Things will NEVER be perfect here, but it sure as heck is a lot better here then some other regional carriers. On top of that, not having to stress about job fairs, applications, and interviews is priceless...that's another job in itself.

Why not go to job fairs and apply anyway? Sounds like laziness to me. Or maybe skeletons in the closet, DUI's, etc. Basically, not hiring material anywhere else and you are stuck with Envoy for life.

The flow creates movement, it doesn't stifle. Right now we have a backlog of pilots due to the lost decade after 9/11. We are the only airline that can guarantee 30 pilots per month leave off the top of the seniority list. And our flow will stay at 50% through pilots hired on October 2011.
Currently United and Delta have about 12,000+ applications on file. Forget American as most new hires come from the flow. Where does your average Regional pilot go in that enormous pile of applications? A few years flying an RJ will give you a leg up over people with military time? Or Airbus time? Or 747 time?
Remember you aren't just competing against other Regional pilots. There are pilots from LCCs, the military, Atlas, Omni, Kalitta, and the list goes on.
So you think that applying off the street at only two majors will work out faster than a no interview flow? Remembering that the flow will be at around 5 to 6 years once the current backlog of pilots go over.
Buy into the Internet cynism if you want...none of these people know what's best for you. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk..it's your choice.
